We decided to stay at the kariba as this was near the golf clubs we wished to play on .The manager was very friendly and helpful and gave us all the directions and taxi requests during our stay .The rooms were clean ,warm and cosy .The breakfast offered a good choice menu and also catered for one vegetarian .We would... I've spent one week at Kariba Guest House and it's been such a wonderful base for exploring the city and doing the work I had set out to do being in Edinburgh. Generous atmosphere and service, warm and comfortable rooms, everything within walking distance, cozy café just nearby for a quick coffee, easy to get to from the airport, excellent... More

A fabulous guest house, with an even more fabulous host. The atmosphere is very welcoming, and Joanna (Agnes) ;-) will go out of her way to make sure you're comfortable, and happy. There is plenty of hot water for you, and the the house is kept lovely and warm. The beds are great! I was out like a light. A... More

I stayed at kariba guest house with 6 teenagers for 5 nights this August and we have all been very happy with our stay! Everyone has been very helpful, the rooms are small but comfortable and breakfast just great. The bus stop is at the door of the guest house, which makes the city centre very close. We have felt... I stayed 3 nights at this hotel and the experience was very nice!! You feel like at home and the breakfast is amazing. Its very close to the city centre and there is a bus stop just in front of the hotel. The customer service from Joanne is really good. She is lovely. I will come back to this hotel... More

Superb and charming bed and breakfast not too far from the city center. The staff is friendly, really serviceminded and nice, we stayed for five days and it was like a home from home. Freshly made rooms everyday.

The room was pretty small, but clean and the sheets where nice. The bed was a bit lumpy. The bathroom was okay, but the shower had very low pressure. The breakfast was a light continental breakfast, only toast, ham, cheese and jam. No bacon or eggs. The location, which to be honest is the most important thing, was very good.... More

I stayed in Kariba Guest House with two friends during the Easter weekend and none of us would ever come back or recommend it. I was freezing at night even using two extra banquets (I complained and they said they could only give me banquets as it was central heating only working few hours a day), the breakfast was poor... Had a great stay at Kariba for the rugby weekend. Lovely room, friendly and helpful staff and what a breakfast! Good value for close to the center of Edinburgh. There is a bus stop right outside the door if you are feeling lazy too. We hope to be back

My wife and I are from Austin, TX and have attended every Edinburgh International Harp Festival over the last decade except one, so we know this guest house quite well. The location is ideal, the rooms are cozy but all the upstairs rooms are en suite, and the food is excellent. As an example of their hospitality, one year we... More
