We stayed at Airdenair for a few days in May. It's located in a residential area, but within walking distance to the bus stops. I would recommend hiring a cab, however, going to and from the Royal Mile and other downtown areas----it just seemed so much faster and wasn't cost prohibitive. Our room was clean---bed comfortable, and our host (Jill)... more

I stayed at Airdenair 3 nights a week for 6 months whilst temporarily working in Edinburgh. Accomodation - 5 rooms of which I stayed in 2. They were clean and adequately equiped including tea & coffee making facilities. Bathrooms are small but perfectly adequate and, most importantly (in my opinion) clean. Good value for money in my view. Breakfasts -... more

Stayed for 3 nights in July. A solid place to stay, but you might be able to find better for the price. The location requires either a taxi or a bus back to the city center, which can be inconvenient when it's raining (i.e. all the time). The rooms were reasonably nice--downsides are that the bathroom is a bit small... more

Airdenair has everything you need in a B&B guesthouse, it was warm, clean, laid back and good value. Jill is very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The house is charming and the location is good with plenty of buses into central Edinburgh or the university. Very good local restaurants nearby too. If we are in Edinburgh again we'll definitely book Airdenair... more

I was won over when I read about Jill's father's fudge. And I was not disappointed. Jill was gone when I visited in October, but her sister was there, and I really felt like I was visiting a family friend. She packed me a breakfast when I was taking a day trip, gave me an extra blanket because my room... more

Jill and Sally made our stay an exceptional one. Granddad's fudge in the hallway is some of the best we've ever had. An excellent vegetarian breakfast for myself was sorely missed on subsequent nights at different locations. The bus station is only a block away. The rooms were very comfortable and quiet. We just felt really comfortable in this bed... more

This bed and breakfast was a real find. The proprietor, Jill, her husband, sister and daughter all were very welcoming, and made me feel right at home. The room was lovely, clean and comfortable, and the breakfasts were outstanding and plentiful. It is well located to the bus stop, which quickly takes you into the heart of Edinburgh. The neighborhood... more

When you stay at the lovely Airdenair Guesthouse you also get a mother to take care of you while you are in Edinburgh named Jill. We got there is the middle of the afternoon and she made us very comfortable in the very large, immaculate room on the upper floor. The view over the back gardens to Arthur's Seat beyond... more

A very warm and cozy family-run B&B. The rooms are impeccably decorated, and have more character than the hum-drum hotel equivalents, the en suite is a reasonable size with some very helpful instructions for the shower. The breakfast should cater to most, especially the fantastic home-made scones (a must try)! The B&B is situated, as with others, in the gorgeous... more
