The hostel is the city center and to the train station. I reserved a single private room, which was clean. The bathrooms were also clean. Check in and check out were fast. The only problem was that it was pretty noisy at night, but again, it's in the city center, close to many bars and clubs. I would go again.

Overall for the price, this place was just about decent enough for 1 night. Having use of a fully equipped kitchen and therefore being able to shop for and prepare food is a real money saver, and its biggest asset! The drawbacks were of course the shared bathrooms, which you need to come to prepared with your own personal towel,... More

The pleasant staff and the location are what I feel get this place just over 2 stars for rating. There's a dirty feel inside this place. The shared bathrooms have no hand soap dispenser nor a way to dry your hands after you use the toilets. Wet sink handles, wet door lock and handles = gross uncertainty. Every single door... More

Brilliant location for stay for the Fringe Festival. Not cheap, but where is in Edinburgh in August.Accomodation this year seemed to have probably doubled in price, certainly over recent years.Has all that you need, excellent to be able to pop back during the day.Within 10 minutes of many, many major venues, if not most.In truth ,it is very difficult to put a value... Extremely close to the fringe events and the royal mile etc. staff were extremely friendly and it felt very secure as there was 24 hour support. Rooms very basic but did not matter as cost was more important.

Stayed here during the Fringe. The staff at reception were excellent and were happy to share a laugh with those checking in (an important thing that I think should be encouraged). The location is excellent - minutes from the High Street and a number of the major venues. The room was located on the 5th floor and there was no... More

I booked this 6 months in advance for The Fringe for a friend and I. Two single ensuite rooms through Booking.com. When we got here, they only had shared bathrooms for us for the same price. The location could not be any better and in good spirits we couldn't be bothered to argue. Very basic is the word for this... More

Have stayed here a few times when visiting for the Fringe and, for that purpose, the location couldn't be better. Basic but perfectly adequate accommodation with friendly staff. The only reason I couldn't give it an extra star was the lack of lift (I was on the fifth floor!). But apart from that, it was fine. I saw a review... More

I stayed here for three days with my wife under Edinburgh International Festival. The rooms are very simple, but has soft beds, desk and cabinets. There was a lot of noise in the streets, but we stll managed to sleep. The location is great, in the middle of Old Town with lots of restaurants, bars and things to see. Shared... More

Stayed here two nights in two rooms. It is a great location in the old town but can be very noisy at night especially if you get a room facing the street. The rooms are very basic and you are depending on having nice neighbors in your 5 bed apartment. Our neighbors were ok except for a bit of talking... More
