After arriving slightly early to the hostel, we were advised to put our bags in the luggage storage which was what appeared to be a very unsecure room just adjacent to the reception...it did state that bags were left at guests on risk and it appeared that as anyone could just walk in off the street and lift your bags... more

This hostel is located in the university student accommodation and is normally only available to book during the summer holidays. The hostel in Robinson Close is on Cowgate and only one/two minutes walk up a hill to the Royal Mile (Castle around 5 minutes away). The accommodation is made up of three, four or six room flats. Each room is... more

we stayed 3 nights in edinburgh but my partner refused to stay here after the first night. The location was fantastic and i probably would have stayed, but it was very basic. the beds were small and uncomfortable, and the room was cramped and dusty. i was also unhappy with the communal kitchen, there was no-way i would have used... more

Hi Bec, Thank you for your comments regarding your stay. I do wish, of course, that it had have been a little better, but please let me address a couple of issues here. One of the problems we sometimes encounter is kitchens not being maintained by the guests that are sharing the apartment. Our housekeeping staff do full kitchen cleans...

I never stayed at a hostel before, so I was quite scared that I was going to stay at a dump. I booked a private flat for 3 people for £66 a night. I was very pleasantly surprised. The flat was basic, but contained everything that I needed, it was clean and spacious. The staff was nice (apart from one,... more

This hostel, which is normally student flats was quite acceptable. Flat was clean. It has a very good location within 5 mins walk of the Royal Mile and Castle. Has a courtyard with parking at 7.50 per night. We got all our 3 motorbikes in one space. Some minor maintenance issues and it's not the Ritz, but for £20 a... more

Thank you for your feedback! You are in fact correct, we do lease student apartments each year during the university summer vacation. As such we are limited by what we can and can not do to improve the look and feel of each apartment. Although you seemed to be quite happy with your stay, especially the value for money, we...

This is the most horrible place i ever had the misfortune to spend a night in. The reception, first off, smelled really bad, there was wiring taped down all over the floor, and despite there being a huge emphasis on the no-smoking rule, the whole place stank of fags. Our apartment was gross - we were greeted by a horrible... more

Hi Alistair, Thank you for your feedback. Well I must say that I am shocked and disappointed at the quality of your stay. This is, without doubt, the worst review we have ever had and I apologise unreservedly. However, and not in any way making excuses, please let me address some of the individual issues mentioned. Each year Euro Hostels...
