I go to Edinburgh 5 to 6 times a year, and I have tried several guest houses in the area, until I found this one. Since then I only stay at this place! The people are lovely and friendly, the rooms are well sized, perfectly clean and not noisy. The bathrooms are pristine. (I think I have tried almost all... more

I stayed here whilst visiting Edinburgh for the 'Moon Walk ' with friends. What a gem of a place. Wonderful, warm owners. Their hospitality surpasses expectation. We stayed in the family room as we needed a triple room which tends to be difficult to find. The room was large, spotlessly clean & well appointed. It had a double bed & 2 singles... more

I returned to Edinburgh and to the Highfield for a second visit in April. If possible, my second stay at the Highfield was even better than my first. I was greeted by the owners upon my early morning arrival (after an all-night flight from Boston) and shown to my room, which had been cleaned for me that morning so that... more

The guest house... more

Great BB a short 15 minute walking distance from the city centre. It is located in a quiet residential area on the South side of the city with many large stone houses . I had hired a car at the airport but did not use it in the city ,as Maggie the host advised me of major road construction going... more

We stayed 3 nights in a beautiful double room over New Years. The hosts Gordon and Maggie are delightful and nothing is too much trouble. Breakfasts are fresh and individually cooked to order and include vegetarian options. The B&B is close to the centre of Edinburgh by bus and the hosts will help with bus info, sightseeing etc. The place... more

If I could describe my experience in the Highfield Guest House I would say "All Rounded". I've been in many B&B and you always find a drawback. In the case of the Highfield Guest House, there are no compromises. - Location was good, 10 min by bus from the Downtown. - The house is an elegant Victorian House, tastefully decorated.... more
