A colleague of mine and me went over to Edinburgh for a business trip. SInce seh had previosly lived in the UK, she recommended to stay at a B&B, so we did a little research and chose The Sandaig. Three criteria are important when it comes to a satisfactory stay: a) A clean room b) A comfortable bed c) A... More

I did not stay at the hotel so cannot comment on the facilities. I booked a room on line whilst on business through a travel company and within 2 days the hotel had taken the funds from my account about 9 days before I was due to be there. My client had to change my date so I tried to... More

We had a lovely experience at the Sandaig. Andy was very nice and accomodating. I really enjoyed staying on the top floor with a view to the quiet neighborhood to the back of the B&B. I appreciated the welcome sherry! The yogurt parfait at breakfast was my favorite breakfast meal of all the breakfasts I had at all the B&Bs... More

We loved being just on the outskirts of Edinburgh overlooking a pretty and quiet park. The bus stop right outside the B&B was very convenient to jump on and head into town (and only 3.50 Pounds per person for a day pass, which Andy can sell you right there at the B&B...the bus requires exact change). We did walk from... More

I had a wonderful stay at the Sandaig. Andy was very welcoming & couldn't do enough. Some wonderful little touches like a welcome drink in your room on arrival. The breakfast choices were exceptional & you were certainly set up for the day. I would definitely recommend this wonderfully warm & welcoming hotel.

We had a very pleasant stay but the decor is a bit tired and could do with a revamp. The proprietor was a very pleasant chap and breakfast was good with a wide selection of food. However the location is not brilliant and I think it was quite expensive, all things considered.

Andy was most helpful as our host. super room and breakfast. Close to excellent restaurants on shore rd and no problems with parking. little jobs need more urgent attention but it didn't detract from an excellent weekend.

This is a nice B&B but it isn't central and it is not great for families. The room was too small for 4 of us with very limited storage. The décor is quirky and the service is great and the breakfast has a fantastic and plentiful range. But it was quite expensive and we were very squashed

Very nice room, very friendly service, breakfast fresh and abundant. Located 1 min from bus 25, which goes in 10 min. to City Centre. Night-Bus-Station also near. Very silent street at night. We had a smaller problem with the shower, which was instantly solved. We loved our stay there.

We stayed 3 nights at The Sandaig during the Fringe. Price-wise I found it on the expensive side of things, but given that the Fringe was on, I suspect that prices were high everywhere. Having said that, the place was like a hotel and we were delighted with it! Andy gave us a nice welcome (he called in advance to... More
