Our stay at Fountain Court Apartments in Morrison Street was really pleasant: the studio was spacious, very clean and well-furnished. There was free coffee, tea and dishwasher liquid, as well as a proper dishwasher. Location was really good and we were able to walk to the city centre, the castle and the nightlife places. The accommodation price was lower than... More

Highly recommend staying here, it was like a home away from home. The housekeeper couldn't of been more helpful (hope he got his tip). The staff at the reception were extremely helpful and friendly. The apartments had booklets with information about the local attractions and emergency numbers. The location wasn't to far from princes street & the castle. Would definitely... More

Centrally located, very comfortable, everything you need in the apartment (like home), good price, great bed and shower. It was easy to book and the staff who were very helpful were just around the corner. We appreciated being able to store our bags for a few hours... More

Great little apartment, very comfortable. Nothing luxurious but well maintained. Breakfast is some bread, butter, jam, ceral, milk, yogurt, and juice delivered to the mini fridge in the apartment. The major negative was the wifi - it was slower than molasses and kicked us out every 3 minutes or so. Granted, we did not go to Edinburgh to surf the... More

Having stayed in the Stewart Apartments the previous year had no hesitation in booking the 3* Morrison, whilst not as well appointed as the 4* Apartments it was fully functional and served us well for the stay. Situated only 10 minute walk from Princes Street, no parking on site but that is available at the same Apartment block the reception... More

I was happy with this apartment. It was relatively clean and there was everything we needed for a one night stay, including a hairdryer and iron. The only downside I can think of is it was quite noisy and I could hear people speaking above us. I would definitely stay there again.

Service and staff very helpful, apartment clean and all the mod cons. Would definitely book again. However lots of stairs to climb would not suit if unable to climb stairs, ask for lower level apartment.

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighborhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theaters and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
