This is a great hotel, small and friendly. Annette and Max made me extremely welcome and I would recommend anyone to visit Edinburgh and stay at the Hotel Ceilidh-Donia. The hotel is much quieter than many in the centre ... far better and at a much better room rate. Ok, you are a little out of town but there are... more

Yes, the hotel is a nice one, but the lady (her name is Annette if I'm not mistaken) thinks she is the Queen of the Scots! She finds more important to finish the cleaning (which would take long, we could sense) than to to receive and show the room to guests who had booked the hotel 4 months in advance....... more

We can recommend this hotel to everyone. Nice rooms, good food, very good service and lovely dogs. Also try the whisky! more

We held our wedding reception at the Hotel Ceilidh-Donia in July of this year and would hightly recommend the hotel for small family weddings. We had a party of 35 people and found the hotel perfect in catering for this number. We cannot praise highly enough Max, Annette and staff for their excellent service, delicious food and for making our... more

We had stayed on my family's farm for several days -- freezing cold, crappy water pressure in the shower, tiny bed with horrid mattress, etc. So we were SO happy to arrive at the Ceilidh-Donia! The room itself had a cute layout, with a nice view, free wifi (and they supplied a cable when we couldn't get a wireless signal),... more

I did not stay here but fell in love with the dining room at dinner while staying at another place in the area. This hotel has the only dining room in the area, has a wonderful family that runs the place, and I just loved the resident dogs. Perfectly manored dogs that don't even let you know they are there... more

We stayed for two nights at the Hotel Ceilidh Donia. Our room was lovely, very clean, tidy and well laid out. Not the biggest room but cosy and just perfect for our break from work, kids etc. Breakfast was lovely, everything you could want, all tasted great. We had one evening meal at the hotel, again lovely. The hotel is... more

We stayed at this location from June 10 - 14. This hotel is nestled in a very quiet neighborhood which is close to the royal mile. Our room was very spacious and the owners and staff were very attentive to our needs. The in-hotel restaurant provided great breakfasts and had a great dinner menu. This hotel met all of our... more

My husband and I vacation in Scotland every year and for the last 6 of them we have stayed at this hotel. We find the hotel to be cozy, clean and welcoming. We now consider Max and Annettte friends and we are treated as such when we stay there. We travel a lot and try to compare other hotels to... more

Stayed at the Hotel Ceildh Donia in early May. It's in a nice residential area southeast of downtown Edinburgh. It's probably too far to walk for most folks to get to the main sights in Edinburgh like the Castle and the Royal Mile, however, the local bus service is good and very frequent. The hotel is well kept up and... more
