Great location, Great breakfast and a Great value! Loved the service! Annette was very helpful with directions and went above and beyond by preparing sack lunches for us on a day that we left prior to the restaurant opening. Would go back!

This was a great stay in a comfortable and clean room. People are very friendly and are happy to help you with everything and the breakfast has plenty of choices and is freshy made. The only downside of this hotel is the location. It takes about 10-15 minutes to get to the centre by walk and you get pretty tired... More

Dear Reviewer Thanks for taking the time to write your thoughts, great to know that you loved everything about the Hotel except the LOCATION, only thing I can say is the CLOSER you get to any City Center then the FURTHER away you will be from your Bank Balance, IFNU know what I mean. We feel that with the World... More

I usually don't write reviews but I had to for this one. Me and my brother stayed over for a night and it was one of the best places I've stayed at. The owners were super nice and helpful. They also have custom maps drawn to help you get to town easily. It's not exactly in the city center but... More

This hotel was a good compliment to the overall nice experience in Edinburgh. The room was very spacious and comfy, with all high quality amenities. Bed was comfortable and pillows were great, too. It was very clean as well. Shower was very powerful. The location was great. Close to a bus stop that has 4 buses that go to town.... More

My husband and I spent five nights at this wonderful hotel. The room was very comfortable and nicely decorated. We had requested a ground floor room with accommodations for a mobility disability. The room met our needs perfectly. Our hosts, Annette and Maxx were very helpful in terms of finding our way around Edinburgh, sightseeing and finding nice restaurants. The... More

Dear Revieweee Many Moons of thanks for a Fantabulous Review of The Hotel Ceilidh-Donia, it is great when Guests prefer our Freshly Cooked Breakfast to the bigger City Hotels offerings, over the years (32years) in the Hospitality Business I have bought lots of Books and DVD's and they are all Free to be used in the Bar Area, all our... My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights in August. What a great place and what wonderful hosts Maxx and Annette are! They were always available and offered excellent suggestions. The fact that they are so close to a bus stop where you can get downtown from three different buses meant you never had to wait more than a... More

What positive things can I say about this delightful hotel that haven't already been said?? Everything is perfect - the rooms are exceptionally comfortable - the beds/bedding/pillows feel perfectly luxurious, the breakfast is sublime - cooked to order and a good range of fresh, excellent quality produce, the location is great - on a good bus route into town and... Stayed with my wife for 6 nights during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and found absolutely everything to our liking and with the crowds of people in Edinburgh, a great place to relax in a quiet neighbourhood away from the rat race, but only a short bus ride away from the action when needed. Our 1st floor room was clean and... More

Dear Revieweee Many Moons of thanks for a really Lovely Review, and yes like you we think our Location is great, close enough to the Town but just close enough to be in a quiet Neighbourhood with lots of Pubs and Restaurants but minutes walking away. Friendly staff was always willing to stop and help us, wither with maps, advice or booking a taxi to get us to the airport. Breakfast was much better than the typical European buffet, as they served cooked to order hot meals as well. The rooms were roomy, well kept and a pleasure to relax in. They were kind enough to... I needed two rooms for 4 nights during the very busy Festival season and this hotel was the best value. I booked months in advance and a reasonable deposit was required. With respect to location, we would have preferred to be closer to the Festival action near the Royal mile so the hotel would be closer to freshen-up during the... More

Dear Reviewer I see that like me that you have travelled a lot and Unfortunately the golden travel rule is the closer the Hotel is to the Sistine Chapel the more costly it will be and as you have noticed our Hotel manages to give good Value for money balancing room costs with our quiet location. The Edinburgh Festivals are... More
