I'd booked this as it was in a reputable guide and had parking and I wanted to avoid a chain hotel. First there was no one at the guest house on arrival, high ceilings don't excuse a cramped room for three, and as for the parking - well if I was driving a Hillman Imp, there was room. I baulked... They say first impressions are paramount. These people need a lesson. The garden was overgrown and hadnt been tended to for at least a year. It wasn't to get any better. Given a room without en suite. The bathroom was across the hallway. We asked for a quiet room and was given one on the road side. The place was... More

The guest house is close to a bus station. When we arrived a bit earlier before check-in, the room was ready and the lady owner let us in just by a phone call, which was nice. At first, we felt like walking in a nice 'vintage' hotel. Yes, the furniture was old and looked stylish indeed! However, it was very... More

The pictures do not accurately reflect the standard of the property. This is much more a "hostel" type standard of accommodation than a B&B - and there was no breakfast. There was damp and mould in the bedroom and more so in the bathroom. As the wind blew outside, it then whistled through the room. It was certainly not somewhere... More

When we arrived there was no one to check us in. The room was very dirty, but the bathroom quite clean. The staff was not helpful or kind and I had to call them 4 times in order to fix the heating. The first night we had frozen. Unacceptable.

To start with, yes I know this is a guest house, not a hotel, but that doesn't mean you still shouldn't have a decent level of standards. When we arrived, there was no one to greet us, or check us in, we had to use a outside telephone to ring someone who told us our keys were behind the door.... More

We arrived at 2.30 pm and owners were even there. We returned at 5.30 and had to ring doorbell Several times & then get on the phone. The lady who meet us was offhand and not helpful. It seemed we were intruding on her space. The parking is down a very narrow lane & very tight. The lade was in... More

I knew this place would be budget end, but you still expect certain standards! The room was a decent size with three beds. Ground floor beside the family/or staff accommodation? It was pretty noisy first thing and until 11ish at night, our door opened onto the reception area. The sheets were clean but the other covers were filthy and very... More

Firstly the guest house looks nothing like the photo used to advertise it, we drove past it twice as the sign was partly covered with over grown trees and shrubs. On arrival for our 2 day stay the woman who opened the door to us was rude, we asked where the car park was but she left us standing the... More

Terrible experience. I had to come in one day late but I had paid for the room for the night I could not make it. The lady who I called for directions (GPS coordinates could not find this place) was rude. She was ruder still on arrival, perfunctory, not welcoming, and wanted us to get away asap and leave her...
