The hotel is an interesting boutique hotel with an good concept around Scottish celebrities. Location is great and the hotel is pleasant, but I think that if you are going to charge high prices then you need to ensure your attentiveness to details is great. My wardrobe had hooks for about 8 hangers but only 2 actual hangers, bit of... More

I absolutely love this hotel! The rooms are a little on the small side but they're all decorated beautifully with a well thought out layout. There is everything you need with a few added luxuries (the fancy coffee and wee tea cakes are a lovely touch!). The staff are really friendly and more than willing to go out of their... More

I ended up staying here after a mishap with bookings at another hotel and didn't really know what to expect. The hotel itself is really nice, but I had to ask a member of staff if I was in the right building as the "Hotel" is situated on the first floor and is accessed from the back of the bar,... More

Not a pleasant hotel at all, reception in a "cupboard" although staff very pleasant, room was like sleeping in an office. No dressing table as such, just a desk, wooden floor very slippery, wardrobe looked home made. Plug for hairdryer nowhere near a mirror, had to request an extension cable which they did provide, poorly decorated, not dirty but not... More

We stayed for 2 nights and used it as our base for our day at T in the park, Great location in the west end, room was average and slightly small but on the whole we were pleased with the hotel and bar, and it was a welcome comfort after slumming it in the mud!!!!

I stayed at the Angel's share hotel for a night with my boyfriend - you have to walk through the restaurant to get to the lift that then takes you to the reception! Quite a random layout for a hotel reception, however, the receptionist was lovely :) We stayed on the 4th floor in the Sharleen Spiteri room. The room... More

A friend and I stayed at the Angels Share in April 2015. We arrived very late on the train from London and we were met by the night staff, I believe his name was Alistair. He could not have been nicer. He asked us where we were from and gave us some tips on what we should do in Edinburgh.... More

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighborhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theaters and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
