5 of 5 stars Reviewed today NEW

I had a two days stay in this modern, clean and quiet hotel. It has an easy access from the airport as the airport bus has a stop right in front of it. The location is good because it is close enough to the center but not right in the middle of the noisy hassle of the city. Edinburg castle... More

The Angel Share hotel is an amazing hotel. Great service, location, rooms, restaurant and bar. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I arrived at 7am from NY and although my room was not available yet they held my luggage and gave me some suggestions of what to do in the city until the room was ready. The room was... More

I stayed at the Angel's Share Hotel in November 2014, when I was catching up with friends in Edinburgh. The location was great for me, and I enjoyed the feeling of the hotel. I was greeted on arrival and checked in quickly. The room was very comfortable and tidy. It was quiet and pleasant to stay, and I enjoyed a... More

This hotel is in a great location, but it is generally disappointing. If you are looking for an actual hotel experience, do not stay here. No business center, no fitness center, unreliable wireless, no lobby. Basically a cool bar with rooms upstairs. Staff is generally nice but not helpful. No check in before 3:00pm. The rooms are small, but that... More

Hi I am sorry to hear that our hotel was not what you were looking for during your visit to Edinburgh. Being a boutique hotel we don't have a business centre or fitness facilities however we can arrange for day passes to fitness facilities located near to the hotel. As you have said we do offer a great bar and... More

We had an upgrade to an extra spacious room, good standard, very clean. Enjoyed an excellent a la carte breakfast, and had a few drinks the night before in the very nice atmospheric bar. The hotel is very centrally located at the beginning of both Princess and George street.

An excellent place for lunch, staff are very friendly and nothing is ever too much trouble. Never had a bad meal food is always hot, tasty and presented well topped off with a huge selection of drinks. Would recommend every time

Stayed for a couple of nights for The Fringe and was expecting more considering the high price. The rooms are very well decorated and clean but so badly designed especially for ladies!! Very difficult to use. No plug sockets anywhere near a mirror for hairdryer or kettle, very dim lighting in bathroom, took my life in my hands when getting... More

Well where do I begin? First of all there is absolutely no clear signs of where to go for the hotel? That's because you need to walk through the restaurant? Talk about awkward when people are eating and you have to walk past soaking wet with suitcases! Second, so a little dodgy lift to take you upto to "reception" (lift=... More

The Hotel really must get a grip. The room was small and badly designed. What is the point of having a huge bed when you can barely walk round the room. It really is silly. The details let it down badly. No milk in the bedroom, not even UHT so you have to get room service for that late night... More

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighborhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theaters and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
