After spending four days in London we were ready for some peace and quiet. We were welcomed before reaching the top step to the B&B. The room was wonderful and we were offered tea which was served on a beautiful tray with shortbread cookies. We enjoyed breakfast and were given many choices. Our stay there was perfect in every way,and... More

Excellent hospitality! Breakfast earlier than usual was no problem; phoning a taxi for me was no bother; a complimentary port and chocolate made me feel spoilt and best of all, the provision of golf clubs and balls that allowed me to play 9 holes on the Bruntsfield Links (just a few yards from the front door) at 10:00pm on a... Close enough to walk to from Waverley Station but ever so quiet at night. Fabulous room - clean - bright and the port and chocs given each day was a real bonus - just what needed after an exhausting day playing at tourist.

I was working at the theatre so it was wonderful to be so close. Lisa, and her husband are charming, warm and friendly; the whole atmosphere of Ellesmere House is super, the decor' just up my street and anyone who can have such an adorable dog just has to be great. We weren't always in time for breakfast, but what... More

I really rate Ellesmere House. From Lisa's initial warm greeting to Jack's fond tail wagging. Not to mention a very comfortable room, fantastic Scottish breakfast all for a fair price. Lisa gave us access to her laptop to enable us to download & print our airline boarding check-in passes. Lisa also prepared our breakfast early to allow us time to... More

A very nice guest house in a quiet location next to a park and within walking distance from the centre. My room was well furnished, comfortable and very clean. The owner is very welcoming and helpful, the breakfast excellent and the provision of bottled water and port in addition to tea and coffee added to the sense of being well... More

Ellesmere House was perfect, it was beautifully decorated, breakfast was first class and Lisa was the perfect host, very friendly and offered lots of knowledge about the local area and Edinburgh. The location was spot on for us as we didn't want to be too near the centre and we liked the green park space opposite. It was only a... More

Spent a very relaxing couple of days at Ellesmere House in April 2014. The house is beautiful, the location convenient, the host friendly and the breakfast perfect. Will certainly stay there again next time I visit Ediniburgh.

Beautiful room and the fluffiest pillows ever! Clean and well presented. Breakfast was good and liked the little touch of port and chicks in the room. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. Well situated for the Meadows
