From start to finish the company was incompetent. We requested early check-in and despite only getting to the apartment 10 minutes before regular check-in time our key code did not work. We had to then call the emergency number (which gets answered 1/5 times if you're lucky) to get them to activate our code. Before arriving I had asked for... More

We stayed at the Queen Street apartments. Flat was huge, tastefully furnished overlooking the park at the front. We self cater as my food allergies make eating out a problem, kitchen well equipped but oven quite dirty. Light coloured carpets throughout were quite stained. We had a problem with Internet connection, someone was with us trying to fix it within... More

The 2 bedroom apartment itself was great & we loved it;spacious, very modern & quite well equipt although we ate out so not sure if it would be good for actually cooking a meal;very well located right in the heart of the city center. The bathroom although quite small had both shower & a large bath. So why the average rating... More

Stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment on Hill Street with 4 friends recently and we were all very impressed. The self catering apartment was very modern (mod cons and underfloor heating in the bathroom), nicely decorated (very smart but with a bit of colour) and extremely clean. Little shampoos, conditioners and body washes were provided for all guests as well... More

Stayed at the Queen St apartments. Gorgeous ! Had everything you need, was very clean. Beds very comfortable. Great location. No problems with keypad entry, all worked as per email instructions. Door handles inside were tricky though, we found it hard to open the doors for some reason. Definately stay again.

Stayed in these apartments a couple of weeks ago (3 of us). Very centrally located just off Princes Street, opposite Waverley station. About 5 mins walk from the City Link bus to/from airport and probably a 3 min walk from the nearest tram stop. Further down the road is Harvey Nichols and just across the square is a Sainsburys. I made a reservation in November, all payment was taken ahead of arrival in July , difficult to unload car in street and parking offered was in a filthy back alley through a gate surrounded by garbage dumps. As per previous complaints the lift was not working, climbing 71 stairs with heavy baggage, walking difficulties and a heart complaint was... More

My wife and I stayed for two nights in a studio flat on South St. Andrews street. The flat was very clean and well appointed. The kitchen area contained everything you would require to cook your own meals. We did not do so as we were only there two nights. The flat is well located in Edinburgh, close to Waverley... More

Excellent, was a great apartment, location and key pad entry worked really well. The only complaint we had was the bed was terrible. I did ring when we arrived just to ask for a topper or blanket to lie on top of the mattress as we could feel the springs through it. I never got a call or a blanket and... More

Staying in Southside & Holyrood

Neighborhood Profile
Southside & Holyrood
Many of Edinburgh’s student hangouts gather around university buildings in Southside, the sort of neighborhood that supports a long string of second-hand shops and eateries serving ethnic food for just a few pounds. In August the student population is replaced by vast numbers of boisterous visitors here for the Fringe, Edinburgh’s world-class comedy and arts festival which headquarters itself here. Flanking Southside are two great parks. The Meadows is a vast flat and sporty space where football, rugby, tennis, cricket, croquet, and golf often all take place side by side. Kids in its big playgrounds add to the joyful noise. Far bigger and much wilder, Holyrood Park extends to the east and provides a real hike up Arthur’s Seat, but the district is best known as the site of Scotland’s Parliament and its premier Royal Palace—and their steady stream of sightseers.
