We just returned from a 6 night stay at this great find, on a nice quiet street. From the moment we walked in, we were amazed by the old time and beautiful stairwell going up to the rooms. There is no lift here, so potential guests who have trouble with stairs may want to look elsewhere. There is extensive and... More

Quiet but central place, close to a train station and several buses and tram stop, clean well furnished and wide rooms, great and very helpful staff, The wee bar and the breakfast area was cute and quaint as well. Definitively a very good choice for visit Edimburgh. High suggested and I personally will be back soon.

This is a comfortable and nice little hotel, with big rooms and a friendly atmosphere. The staff do their best to make your stay a good one, always helpful. However, the prices were too high for what is basically an upgraded B&B.

This is the third time we have stayed at The Thistle Hotel and each time has been fabulous. The staff are very helpful, friendly and informative. The rooms are lovely, very clean and well stocked with everything you would need for your stay. It is in a great location too, only 5 minutes walk to Princes Street. We will definitely... More

We stayed in the family room for two nights during the Edinburgh Festival. The staff were friendly and the bedroom large and spotlessly clean. The hotel is in a quiet area but within walking distance of the city. The only slight negative was that the family room consisted of two double beds rather than the usual double and twins -... More

Arrived a bit late and was locked out no staff, nobody to call. Had to book into another hotel. Spoke to the manager next day but he was not interested. So we had to pay double for one night. The toilet smells damp and shower handle is rusty. Very dated and expensive. Will cross this one of my Edinburgh list. Had... More
