Very spacious well equipped rooms. Nicely decorated in the boutique style hotels favour. A reasonable sized bedroom with a king size bed, spacious dressing room with lots of storage. The sitting room was large with a well equipped kitchen area with granite breakfast bar. Would make a great place to stay if staying for more night. Have stayed numerous times... More

This hotel in Edinburgh has huge rooms. The rooms are the size of a large one bedroom apartment complete with kitchen, living room, two bathrooms and a bedroom. The rooms are separate floors in old Georgian townhouses. The rooms were well appointed and comfortable. We visited during the festival when hotel room prices are most expensive. Nevertheless, the room was... More

I stayed here for one night in the owners residence and all I can say is wow! The apartment is a good size with excellent amenities. It has it's own front door which is down a few stairs from the street. The bedroom has a very comfortable bed and the en-suite is stocked with everything you need for an evenings... More

The accommodations are exceptional (large and luxurious rooms), but the real differentiator is the people: the service is incredible. Everything they did was first-class, including the time we left a valuable item in a cab. The front-desk personnel contacted multiple cab companies, and 5 minutes later, our lost item was returned. An excellent experience.

My wife and I stayed recently for 3 nights during the Tattoo and Fringe. The initial staff greeting was amazing, to the level where you believe you are their only and most important guest. The smiles were endless and nothing was too much trouble. Staff are clearly very well trained, and to a high standard and they certainly make guests... More

We stayed at the Chester Residence for 3 nights during the Fringe. We have 2 teenage sons so the two bedroom apartment was perfect. 5 minutes walk from Princes street in a very upmarket, quite area. Beautifully furnished, spacious accommodation. Staff were very helpful. The hotel has a few parking spaces too which was useful for us. Highly recommended and... More

Superb, well equipped, beautifully proportioned apartments less than five minutes walk from the city's centre. Staff were helpful, friendly and always smiling. It's plain to see why this hotel has won so many awards. Highly recommended.

Fantastic, amazing, clean, apartments. They have everything you could wish for, TV at the end of the bath, Sky, coffee machines to name a few things. Luxury linen and big fluffy towels. The staff were eager to please. Nothing was a problem. I would highly recommend this residence. A huge Thank Q to all staff for making my birthday weekend... More

There were four of us and we stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment. They are really beautifully finished with modern fixtures and a wonderful modern design. Space is plenty and the design is very cool. The staff at the hotel are really helpful and go out of their way to assist you. The fee is not cheap but it was... More

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighborhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theaters and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
