Have just returned from our first visit to The Chester Residence & couldn't have been more impressed. Our 1 bedroom apartment was extremely well appointed & well equipped; we were able to take full advantage of the luxurious & peaceful surroundings whilst having easy access to all the attractions on offer in the centre of Edinburgh. For anyone looking for... More

We booked this place via laterooms.com due to the excellent reviews on trip advisor and we weren't disappointed. The apartment is located in walking distance of the main attractions which means you don't need use the car if you prefer not to or you fancy a drink with dinner. We arrived on a Sat afternoon so just parked in a... More

Extra large space and great stay in April. All the facilities and room are very clean with good service. A very good value for money! Highly recommend when visiting the city of Edinburgh. Very convenient for travellers with car and plenty parking spaces available.

We had an amazing Easter weekend in Edinburgh and our stay at the Chester residence was perfect. We traveled with our 1 year old so we really needed two bedrooms with a kitchen. Our apartment was on the top floor, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with a large kitchen. Lots of sunlight. Loved that they converted the brown stone buildings... More

STOP LOOKING RIGHT NOW AND BOOK THIS PLACE! Booked this for a weekend based entirely on research and reviews read on TripAdvisor. They were absolutely bang on. All communication, whether face to face or via email is professional, warm and friendly. I booked an add on package for £65-Chill@Chester-,which was well worth it. A hamper full of goodies, games, dvds... More

Stayed at the Chester with my hubby for a special birthday recently and totally made the right choice. The staff, accommodation, facilities and location make it hands down a superior option to a standard 5star hotel. The personal service and all the little extras - room upgrade (massive with a little garden area), the DVDs for a lazy afternoon in... More

Me and my girlfriend stayed at this residence for 2 days and could not have been happier with it! Every part of the room was absolutely amazing and clean, we were greeted with a very warm welcome by the staff at the desk and someone came and took our bags to the room while he showed us about and I... Luxury apartments, pricey but you can see why when you arrive. We had a 2 bed lower floor Mews apartment which had patio doors to a little garden and parents had a 1 bedroom ground floor which was massive (and beautiful)! Good hairdryers girls so don't bother packing one. Iron also included. Molton Brown toiletries, slippers and dressing gowns, lovely... More

Excellent accommodation with great facilities. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this accommodation to anyone. I doubt you will find a better hotel/apartment in Edinburgh and the prices are competitive with other high end hotels.

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighborhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theaters and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
