Only a 5 minute walk to the beautiful Grasarket area and 5 more to the real hub of tourist Edinburgh. Popular with American tour groups. Really clean nice swimming pool, bright spacious modern rooms. Breakfast buffet not so great but fine. I stay here 3 times a year on business and it's ideal for that.

My 4th visit to this Novotel. Location is excellent. Bed comfortable. Bath quite small. Room felt a bit sparsely decorated and bed sheets weren't tucked in and were hanging loose. I felt I was in one of the less-good rooms. Breakfast good. Air con worked well, (a problem on previous stays).

A very pleasant stay was marred on the first night when there wasn't a room for us and were sending us to the Apex. We returned the next day as we had prepaid five nights and the rest of the stay was top notch. Room was excellent and the restaurant served hearty meals. Loved the location and will be back.

We enjoyed our stay here - had a large and very comfortable room with a quality ensuite and excellent shower that was bliss after experiencing those at certain other hotels during our trip. Ordered room service that arrived promptly - the portions were very generous and well presented. Reception staff were friendly and helpful - recommended.
