The hotel is not too far from the city centre even if it takes about 10 minutes by walk to reach the Royal Mile, the main road. The room was nice, very clean and comfortable but the best thing was breakfast, we could choice between sausages, eggs, bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms and black pudding. I have never seen anything like it... more

If you want in room WiFi you have to deal with Accor Orange which is run by Orange France. The only thing that is not a problem is the way it takes your money. The original password didn't work. Tne hotel charges 80p a time to call the AccorOrange 0800 helpline. The woman on the helpline spoke poor English and... more

Well, I arrived to stay with my partner who was up on business, not expecting very much at all. I don't like big chain hotels and thought Novotels were rather plain especially. However, I was really pleasantly surprised as the room was excellent, we had a little sofa as well as the bed (very comfy) in the room. The bathroom... more

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in July with our 2 young sons. If you are travelling to Edinburgh with children, you can't do much better than this hotel for this price! The room was lovely, the breakfast (and the one dinner we ate there) were great! the location was also fantastic. we walked from the train station,... more

We have stayed in this hotel many times over the past few years and would generally recommend it. However some parts need improvement for a more well-rounded experience and pleasant stay: This time we stayed in one of the executive rooms. The room and castle view were very nice, but the daily room cleaning needs improvement. It appeared as it... more

This was a great location for us to stay close to the heart of Edinburgh. It's right below the castle and a very short walk to most things. The hotel was just okay! Like most all hotels in GB, it has an air cooler, not an air conditioner but with a fan and open window it was fine. Biggest problem... more

Had 3 nights here. Location suited us as we attended a concert at the castle which is within easy walking distance. Room was clean however only half he light bulbs worked and you could not open the window much to get some air in, all the bathroom and toilet fittings were loose and wobbly. Breakfast is buffet style and not... more

My husband and I stayed for a weekend in Edinburgh at the Novotel and chose this hotel for location in Old Town area, 4-star rating, and hotel amenities. The hotel is located across the street from the Edinburgh College of Art and about a two block walk to the Grassmarket area, which is famous for its restaurants, pubs, shops, and... more
