I have to say I was pleasently surprised when I checked into the Murrayfield Hotel. From the pictures on the hotel website I was expecting to travel back in time to the 70's but instead my room was nicely decorated and very comfortable. My room had a large double bed, tea & coffee, hairdryer, flat screen tv and a safe... more

Just came back from the Scotland V France international. This hotel is a stone throw from the stadium. You can see from the Hotel. Haymarket Station is only 10mins walk to the Hotel, and costs just £1.60 from centre of Edinburgh(Waverly). The hotel staff are all very helpful, but be warned on match days they are very busy, so busy... more

Went to Edinburgh for a 2 night break between Christmas and New Year. We arrived by train (Haymarket) and took a taxi to the hotel which cost £3, it would take around 30 minutes to walk. Our room wasn't actually in the main hotel but in one of the "lodges" which turned out to be rooms in a building next... more

I spent 5 nights with this hotel while taking in an off-season trip to see the sights of Edinburgh, and all in all I can say that the experience was fairly good. The hotel staff seem to aim for efficiency - which they're good at - at the expense of some warmth, but maybe that's because it was December and... more

I thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The room was comfortable, clean and well furnished. The bathroom was well fitted, modern and clean as well. The bed was massive and very comfy. My partner and I both enjoyed all the breakfasts we had at the Murrayfield as the food was freshly cooked and well presented. We did have dinner in the bar... more

I arrived after 10pm to discover that the agency booking had not arrived. Luckily there was a vacancy and the very helpful and efficient receptionist checked me in and promised to phone the agency next morning. The twin room was very small and I was glad I was on my own – it would have been impossible for two people... more

My husband and I spent one night here at the end of August while in Edinburgh. The room was comfortable, and there was a full bar and restaurant on the main floor. The staff was VERY friendly and helpful. We had a 6:30 AM flight to catch the next morning - the man working at the front desk that morning... more

We were a party of six (ages 24 - 55) in Edinburgh for one night for the tattoo. Was worried having read previous reviews of this hotel, but either things are improving, or we just got lucky! Our rooms seemed to have been recently decorated with new en-suite, which was pleasing. However, don't expect The Ritz, some of the furnishings... more

me and my boyfriend and a few of our friends stayed at this hotel one night this week whilst we were in edinburgh for the tattoo, we were very happy with this hotel, it is better than a 2 star, the rooms were large, clean, flat tv, hairdryer, iron etc and the bathroom was lovely, the only problem with our... more

Fairly good hotel, which is very easy to get to as it's on a main road and the bus route to the airport. Clean, recently refurbished rooms. Very close to main road so constant traffic noise might be a problem for light sleepers. Not as close to the city centre as it claims, it took us 25 min to walk... more
