A beautiful old house with a garden to match. It is approached through a door set in the wall and down some steps - what a surprise to find yourself in such a lovely space so close to Edinburgh City centre. The owners are very welcoming, and full of tips and suggestions for places to eat. Our room (Cedar) overlooked... More

Warm and friendly hosts, wonderful and expansive accommodation, excellent breakfast--at this level, cannot imagine anything better in Edinburgh. Every amenity provided. This is a beautiful family home with a large and picturesque garden. Great location with public transport around the corner. Would not think of staying anywhere else in Edinburgh.

This B&B is very good for us given its location, so close to relatives in the neighborhood. It's also near The Dominion Movie Theatre, and many shops on the high street. There is a Waitrose (grocery store) within easy walking distance, and 3-4 coffee shops not far away. Once you have arrived, it's the an unusual approach, as you go... More

I stayed only one night here, and it was just perfect. I would certainly go back. The hosts, Bob and Jill, were very welcoming and the accommodation is lovely. I liked that they seemed to have considered what they would look for themselves in b&b accommodation, so there were lots of books and magazines in the bedroom, an abundance of... More

This is in a superb location both in its own right (shops and restaurants abound) and for an easy bus ride into Edinburgh. The rooms are extremely comfortable with a magnificent array of toiletries and other small but significant touches. The garden is beautiful (even in December) and the hosts are very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was the best I... More

Beautiful old house in Morningside. Perfectly located for eating and shopping locally or a short bus ride into Edinburgh. Hosts are very friendly and accommodating. We return every year for our trip to this great city.

Two wonderful people that make you believe that good is still with us on earth. Believe it or not yet this couple has passed their Golden Jubilee and they make you feel it is worth trying. The accommodation is VERY good, food is thoughtful, the garden is magnificent and the hospitality is certainly warm and personal without being intrusive. Next... More

I was delighted to discover this wonderful B&B for a 5 day visit to Edinburgh. The hotel accommodation is expensive in the city but the rates at Number 4 are reasonable and I would say for comfort, quality and welcome this lovely B&B is better. There are lots of lovely thoughtful touches, the breakfasts are outstanding. It is very easy... More

We were travel weary when we arrived. Jill and Bob (and sweet lab, Solo) met us in their garden and provided tea and cookies. The room was so lovely with extra touches like fresh flowers and a bowl of fresh fruit. They even provided extra adapters for international travelers who may have forgotten theirs! Jill and Bob have managed to... More
