I was dreading this stay after booking it on the travel lodge website and then reading the reviews on Trip Advisor, but clearly these were written before Travel Lodge had taken over because the place was immaculate. Obviously its a Travel Lodge so thats exactly what you get, but its brand new , modern and squeeky clean. We got our... more

My wife and I stayed at Number 17 for a few nights on honeymoon in Edinburgh, and we weren't disappointed. We were allocated a small room on the lower floor, which some people might have thought a little on the small side but it was perfect for us. The room was clean and bright and airy. The shower room was... more

I booked my parents into Number 17 for a weekend at the end of September and it was absolutely wonderful. They had a huge room overlooking the garden with a sleigh bed, everything was really clean and every comfort was provided for (e.g. kettles and hairdyers in rooms). Breakfast was fantastic with a lovely choice of porridge, cereals, and fresh... more

We stayed here for one night in October 2005 and would not hesitate to return to or recommend this B&B. We were having little luck ringing round B&B's looking for somewhere to stay that evening. We were lucky to get a room at a reduced rate, as a last minute vacany arose and we happened to call at the right... more

This hotel is in an excellent location just a 10 min walk from Princes Street. We were allocated a beautiful room, spacious with a very comfortable bed. A tiny shower room was hidden behind a mirror, very novel which made up for the lack of space. Enjoyed an excellent cooked breakfast around 1 large table in the kitchen. Would definitely... more

Having spent quite some time on TripAdvisor looking for an Edinburgh hotel I despaired of ever finding anything affordable or providing even basic levels of service so I was overjoyed to find a reference to this bed and breakfast. From the moment the phone was answered I felt that my business was appreciated and the feeling only increased upon my... more

I have to say that, overall, I was disappointed in 17 Learmonth Terrace. After reading the good reviews about this B&B I had high expectations. To begin with, we were told that parking was available in the lane behind the house. We arrived at the afore-mentioned lane to find it unsuitable for safe parking. Not a good first impression. After... more

We stayed here Sept. 2003 and absolutely loved it. This was our first B&B experience and will probably be hard to match! My husband and I had a large room upstairs that was beautifully furnished and was extremely comfortable. Our good friend had a smaller room downstairs, which seemed nice, too. Alex left us delicious shortbread cookies daily and her... more

Number 17 is a lovely b & b - definitely to be recommended. The first night we stayed in the tartan room which was is very nice with a very comfy wrought iron bed and big bathroom. On the second night we swapped to the green room, which was massive and beautifully furnished with antiques and a carved wooden bed... more
