I stayed at this B&B a few years ago and really enjoyed my stay, but when I returned here while on a business trip recently I found the experience less pleasant. The Bouverie B&B is situated in the heart of the New Town, so the location is convenient and a short walk from the train station. It's a basement maisonette,... more

Stayed with husband for a romantic get-away. Had Primrose room for £40 each per night so shelled out £160 for two night stay. Not impressed with muck and poor standards generally. Clearly no one had vacuumed in months and no hot water for shower despite complaints so had to use disgusting shower across from room with mouldy sealant and damp... more

We stayed here in the Garden room for 2 nights. This was in the lowest floor of the townhouse and we had to take our luggage down two flights of curved, narrow steps. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was generous. It was also very quiet which was welcome after a long flight. Princes strret was a 10 minute... more

We stayed in this B&B in August 2007, during the Edinburgh Festival. Prices were high throughout the city, but this property was definitely overpriced for what it had to offer. We had asked for a double room with a double bed, but got two single beds instead. Requesting the reception girl to move the beds at least together, she responded... more

I arranged to stay here as it was close to a friends apartment in Edinburgh. Both my partner and I stayed in the Poppy room and my 18 year old daughter in the Garden room. The welcome and stay was perfect. There were no other guests and we had the huge guest kitchen to ourselves (in fact in the evening... more

This little B&B is run by Archie and his wife Cassie and its a beautiful old house close by to all the attractions in Edinburgh. With just a few rooms, real attention to detail has been paid and the beds are the comfiest I have ever slept in. Breakast takes place in their kitchen, round a huge wooden table and... more

We stayed at the Bouverie B&B for 2 nights. Elena greeted us, and was very helpful with directions and activities. We stayed in the Poppy room, which was nicely furnished and comfortable. We had searched long and hard for a room with a private bath, and we were satisfied with the set-up. Very good location; just a 10 minute walk... more

We were looking forward to staying here as it looked lovely on th webb, sadly we were very disapointed. We stayed in the sub-basement front room which is not shown on the webbsite, our friends stayed above us ( a better room). The room was a bit dark, which was handy as it hid the fact it was filthy around... more
