I loved this place. It was really clean. The view was amazing and worth the price. We had room 4003 so we had a balcony. One day we just ordered a pizza to go and ate outside on the balcony. It was the best time ever. So romantic. And we would sleep with the curtains open so we could fall... More

Stayed here with family and friends over Easter break. On check in a very bright and cheery Scottish man settled us all in, was a great laugh with our 7 year old son. We arrived at 10,15 am, knew we couldn't expect room till 3pm, but pleasantly surprised to be allocated our room straight away. Food in restaurant and bar... More

Spacious rooms, modern, excellent hotel. Great location in centre of Edinburgh, spectacular view on the Edinburgh castle from some rooms but definitely from the breakfast room ! Excellent breakfast by the way and a lot of options across the hotel for having a drink or dinner.

The helpful front desk staff gave us a nice welcome and great sightseeing information. When we got to our room and looked out the window, we had a fantastic view of Edinburgh Castle. The top floor dining room had an even better view and delicious breakfast. This neighborhood is within walking distance to a lot of tourist sites but it... More

I think "shabby" is the best way I can describe my room. The chairs are stained, the furniture is scratched, the bed is saggy and the wifi doesn't work. The bathroom smells funny and is designed such that the entire room gets wet when I use the shower. I am here with a conference that selected the hotel and is... More

On the doorstep of many pubs/restaurants/attractions We stayed in the double deluxe rooms which are all located on the 4th floor facing the Castle..we had a small balcony we could stand on which was great, but unable to sleep with a window... Stayed for a short break in Edinburgh and the hotel and the staff are first class. We had a castle view room (3025) and a lovely view it was. Two queen size beds, tea and coffee, free wifi, hair dryer and iron. Very comfortable room. Lovely breakfast served on 5th floor with yet more views of the castle. Lots of... More

During a recent visit to edinburugh stayed at this hotel. The staff are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and room service was great. The hotel has free wifi. Royal mile and princess street are within walking distance of the hotel. The views of the castle from the hotel are amazing.

Staying in Old Town

Neighborhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavored souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
