The room was very clean, beds were big and very comfortable and the staff were very nice to deal with. Only downsides were the breakfast on the first morning and my partner complained that the lighting in the bathroom was poor. more
Stayed here for one night ( mid-week ) during June 2009. Good points: Clean, efficient, professional service, free internet use, large rooms, close to castle, great views of castle. Bad points: 1) I personaly didn't like the bed. Much to soft for me, felt like sitting on a big lump of bread dough as you sink into it and then... more
I stayed at the hotel for two nights in March 2007 on a business trip and had a pleasant and comfortable stay. I usually stay at budget hotels so it was a nice change to enjoy the trappings of somewhere on the next rung up the ladder. My room was a double room at the back of the hotel, so... more

I stayed in the Apex with my teenage daughter and friends for one night and had a great time. The hotel is in a great location for a short Edinburgh break (the Grassmarket has plenty of bars and cafes nearby and its only a 10 min walk to Princes Street). The rooms were modern, clean and comfortably furnished and the... more

This hotel is amazing. The staff super friendly, attentive and helpful in every way possible. The view is perfect overlooking the beautiful castle. The room was very cozy and always clean. Very good breakfast buffet. Near the city centre. Internet access, swimming pool etc. Tea, coffee and snacks at the room. The fact that the staff always had a smile... more
This is an excellent hotel in the historic centre of edinburgh. The service is very pleasent and a real higlight of staying here. I have stayed here a number of weeks and it is my favoured hotel over others of a comparable price. The rooms are modern and clean although on occasions the bathroom has been a little "tired" but... more
I found this hotel quite disappointing. Their are stairs leading to reception and also more stairs to the elevator, when you have a heavy bag it can be quite distressing. Reception were happy to sit their whilst we dragged our bags over to them. The staff in general a couple were nice and the others made us feel we were... more
