What we liked: The spotlessly clean room, with super views from the window; the very impressive old building; the super-helpful student staff (all terrific!) – and the breakfast (fresh fruit and a full menu of cooked or continental options). What we didn’t like: The total lack of welcoming reception area (other than round the corner at another site). The lack,... More

I stayed at this hotel from the mid of June 2013 to the 20th of July 2013. Everything was ok , from the housekeeping department, the room was properly cleaned everyday to the Pub and Restaurant staff, where you can eat a lot of things with 14 punds. Breakfast was very good too , with the possibility of chose between... More

Salisbury Green is a great building and there are lots of advantages to staying here. Very reasonable, free parking, very nice breakfast, very clean rooms and bathroom with nice toiletries. Free wifi with password provided. Bus stop just across the road for quick journey into town , but a pleasant walk too. Plenty of eateries fairly close by. But this... More

All the amenities, comfortable beds, shared but clean bathrooms, scenic buildings on campus, good connections to town. EXCELLENT breakfast. Definitely the biggest spread of any breakfast buffet I have ever seen, or you have seen I am willing to bet. (Great risk free opportunity to try the Haggis as well) Also good value. To be recommended

Stayed here just for the night with a group of friend on a charity cycling ride in June. The standard was very good for student digs - rooms comfortable with good showers. The highlight was the extensive buffet breakfast. Also - its a pleasant 10 minute walk to many pubs and restaurants. Only downside was a pallaver in gaining access... More

Stayed here while visiting Edinburgh with friends in August for the Fringe and Tattoo and what a great choice this was. With a beautiful and walkable highland as our backdrop we were greeted with bagpipers in the square in the middle of these well appointed dormitory style rooms complete with T.V.s and contemporary bathrooms. A bus stop a few minutes... More

Stayed here for a work conference in Sept. Good basic accommodation with fantastic breakfast. Its a 40 min walk into the city centre or a 10min bus ride. Only thing was the drinks in the bar were expensive - £7.10 for a 250ml glass of wine. Saying that it was the same price as in the pubs. I think this... More

We stayed at Pollock Halls during August for the fringe. At a time when the hotels in town are inflating their prices to ridiculous amounts, the Halls provide a cheap and convenient alternative. We stayed in single rooms with shared bathrooms in Turner Building. Knowing we were staying in student accommodation, I was prepared to rough it a bit for... More

I have stayed here several times over the years, and again August this year. Even though I do like my pampering in 3/4 star hotels, student-style accomodation is never beneath me - as long as its of a decent standard. And that is what you get with Pollock Halls. Its fairly basic, but certainly better than the rooms I had... More

Stayed at Pollock Halls for three weeks in August at Lee House Residence. Full board, room cleaned & linen changed daily. Helpful and friendly staff. This is not luxury accomodation, there's higher spec (ensuite available too) but it was excellent value for money. Reception staff very professional and good customer service skills. Erin deserves special mention for going above and... More
