Amazing find! I was fortunate to stay at Pollack Halls during the U19 Women's World Cup Lacrosse tournament (summer 2015). Sitting at the base of King Arthur's Seat, it was simple and efficient with a great breakfast included. Even my husband was able to surprise me and the team with a weeks stay with no issues. He got a single... More

We have used the halls many times for trips to Edinburgh during busy periods - the price is pretty good normally, but still gets elevated during the festival. The rooms are clean, and there is staff availability 24/7 in case you need anything. The halls are located a decent walk from the Royal Mile, but there are taxis and buses... More

I have stayed at Pollock Halls several times - mainly because the price is far more forgiving than alternative Edinburgh accommodation! The rooms are always clean and tidy, the all-you-can-eat buffet-style breakfast is decent (I'm not one for breakfasting but it comes free with the room booking, so why not?), the grounds are well-kept and have a range of beautiful... Visited June 2014 but stupid app won't let me go back further. Anyway, not bad place, however it was very basic. Clean, neat, had a kettle and products to make coffee and tea. Not the most awesome place to stay, but obviously for the price it's ok. It was quiet too, which is always a PLUS when you need to... More

Stayed here during Festival due premium pricing of hotels. It was very basic - a single room with two beds squeezed in, with threadbare sheets, but it was adequate for our needs as we were out all the time. The breakfast was buffet-style, & superb - even included haggis & mounds of Scottish bacon, made up for the disappointment of... More

This university dorm complex came in handy when we were staying for 1 night over a busy summer weekend and all other places had a 2 night minimum. The car parking was free and I was able to find a spot easily (I don't know if this is true when regular school is in session). The room had 2 twin... More

I loved staying here - it is worth it for the amazing full Scottish breakfast alone! The room was small but very clean, plenty big enough for me and it had plenty of wardrobe space and a great shower room. The window opened to let in the fresh air and sunshine (it was mid summer). I marked it down one... More

A very disappointing stay. The room smelt overwhelmingly of mothballs and the mattress sagged in the middle. This meant that I didn't sleep at all. Previous visits in the past had been fine but I would not stay here again.

When I looked for a room in Edinburgh most were booked due to Fringe and Military Tattoo or they were going for $150 per night. I found Pollock hall by accident and got it for 1/3 of what I was going to pay at the other hotels. I was a little skeptical at first but I was actually impressed by... More

We stayed here having booked and were a bit daunted with some of the reviews etc, but we were pleasantly surprised, easy and efficient check in, room was clean and more than adequate. Breakfast was a delight and the buffet catered for all tastes, and plenty on offer...saw a number of guests stocking up their 'packed lunches' for the day...the... More
