Had a nice enough room with sink, towels, tea making facilities all in the room. The walls were paper thin and I could hear the snorer next door. Plenty of bathrooms and shower rooms on every corridor. Breakfast was quite an experience, extremely busy. The food was fantastic, plenty of choice and could go back and forth as mich as... More

By and large I rather liked Pollock Halls. It's a huge complex with lovely gardens, and just round the corner from Arthur's Seat. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the breakfasts are wonderful.....everything for carnivores, and also good for veggies such as myself, I loved the grapefruit segments with yogurt. I was disappointed,... More

Had a two night stay here and found the facilities were good for what we wanted. There are no frills but we didn't want them. The breakfast is vegan friendly and is very filling, though if you are wanting to eat a vegan meal here on an evening then I recommend requesting this in advance as they smear their vegetables... Just back from 3 nights at Pollock Halls. We were in Edinburgh for the festival. Rooms are perfectly adequate - clearly nice student/ conference accommodation. Not a hotel but this is what we expected. £350 for 3 nights b and b for me and my daughter seemed a tad pricy. Breakfast is fantastic, left us only needing dinner later! Beds... More

+ Clean rooms + Friendly staff at check-in -- Poor quality of sleep as the walls are very thin and you can therefore hear seemingly every door open and shut along the corridor - Location is mediocre as it is a 25 minute walk from the city center - (Shared) bathrooms are clean but small, especially the plastic shower -... Attending the Edinburgh Fridge, and stayed at the wonderful Pollock Halls. University of Edinburgh accommodation, clean comfortable no frills rooms, excellent helpful staff, and the most wonderful breakfast included. Close to transport, and the campus itself is pleasant.

I stayed at Pollock Halls on the last Friday of the Edinburgh Festival - it offers excellent value for money (my single room was only £39 including a delicious cooked breakfast). While my room was not en-suite, there was a toilet and shower room just across the hall (shared with 4 other rooms), and further facilities were just down the... More

We booked this for an overnight while at the Edinburgh Festival, and weren't expecting much, knowing this is student accommodation in term-time, but the room was very comfortable, clean, well equipped, nicely furnished, with free wifi and a great breakfast. Friendly, helpful staff also, and free parking (although I think we were a bit lucky with the parking - I... More
