This university dorm complex came in handy when we were staying for 1 night over a busy summer weekend and all other places had a 2 night minimum. The car parking was free and I was able to find a spot easily (I don't know if this is true when regular school is in session). The room had 2 twin... More

I loved staying here - it is worth it for the amazing full Scottish breakfast alone! The room was small but very clean, plenty big enough for me and it had plenty of wardrobe space and a great shower room. The window opened to let in the fresh air and sunshine (it was mid summer). I marked it down one... More

A very disappointing stay. The room smelt overwhelmingly of mothballs and the mattress sagged in the middle. This meant that I didn't sleep at all. Previous visits in the past had been fine but I would not stay here again.

When I looked for a room in Edinburgh most were booked due to Fringe and Military Tattoo or they were going for $150 per night. I found Pollock hall by accident and got it for 1/3 of what I was going to pay at the other hotels. I was a little skeptical at first but I was actually impressed by... More

We stayed here having booked and were a bit daunted with some of the reviews etc, but we were pleasantly surprised, easy and efficient check in, room was clean and more than adequate. Breakfast was a delight and the buffet catered for all tastes, and plenty on offer...saw a number of guests stocking up their 'packed lunches' for the day...the... More

Student halls of residence, so a bit of noise in the corridor with comings and goings, but very quiet in the middle of the night. Comfortable and clean. Wonderful gardens: herbaceous borders. Very friendly staff. EXCELLENT breakfasts! A bit of a hike from the city centre, but very convenient for the Holyrood mountain thing! Would I return! Definitely! Great value!

We were part of a group of over a hundred, members of a band from Canada. Stayed there for two weeks in August. Value for Money could not be beaten anywhere in the city. Reception staff are excellent, will provide all kinds of advice, information and services for tourists. Breakfast is amazing for variety, freshness and quality and eat all... More

This is an upgrade from Youth Hostels. We had two twin beds and a small bathroom. Shower only with paper shower mat. Eco toilet a non starter, had to flush several times to remove all the paper. Next to the Commonwealth swimming pool, a bit off the tourist site. Bus 30 and 33 passes by the pool. Taxi cost £7-8... More

Booked this with my boyfriend as we went to a gig in Murrayfield. Was great, modern, friendly and simple. Free wifi and the buffet breakfast was amazing! However it is quite a distance from the city centre but we didn't mind so much to walk. The most disappointing thing was my bed sheet which clearly hadn't been changed, there appeared... More

I have to be honest and say that I had no intention of staying in this type of accommodation but I was let down by my travel company the day before I was due to stay at another hotel and this was all they had left. However, I am pleased to say that the accommodation was perfect for our needs... More
