Chancellor's court @ Pollock Halls This is a great residence for a short visit. Hreat vlaue for money. The hotel is about 10 min away from the city centre and the cost by taxi from the city centre is around £8. Always ask the taxi driver to take you to Pollock Halls main reception. Our Hotels.com booking didn’t specify which... More

We spent two nights at Pollack Hall and I highly, highly recommend this place if you do not mind the fact that it is a little out of the city centre. But hey, the accommodation prices close to the city centre are like London prices, expensive ouch ouch. There is a bus stop within 3 minutes of walking that will... More

Had two nights here for the Garden Party in Edinburgh. I stayed here while at university years ago and expected institutional accommodation and food but it was great. The reception was excellent, professional and friendly. Accommodation was ensuite, good sized room with large shower. Beds a little hard and carpet well used but very clean. The gardens were beautiful and... More

Pollock Halls is my preferred place to stay in Edinburgh, especially when I just need an overnight stay on my way to or from the islands. Budget-wise it is just between a bed in a hostel and a B&B or guest house, and quality-wise that would be a good summary of what you get, too. It is clean, quiet, well-organised... More

This masquerades as a hotel but it's a pretty dire halls of residence for uni students. Reception staff aren't particularly help and only point you in the general direction of your room. The rooms are so tiny with 2uncomfortable small single beds and in the first room, the tv didn't work so we were moved at my request. The second... More

I don't normally go in for negative reviews, but as I'd booked this 'hotel' through expedia and wasn't given any indication of it's true status, I think it only fair and proper to issue a review based on my experiences: 1. It's a hall of residence (University of Edinburgh) , not a hotel. 2. You get student rooms. I haven't... More

This hotel is a dorm in a university residence. Imagine what that would be like, and that is what you get. Long hallways of basic rooms on a big "campus" with lounge areas and bulletin boards scattered about. The room consisted of two twin beds, a desk/dresser/bookshelf piece, a tv attached to the wall, and a tea/coffee station with water... More

Generally, it's llots of fun staying on a university campus. This campus gets mixed reviews, however. The dining service does offer an amazing breakfast and the reception staff is very knowlegeable and helpful. But the rooms are painfully small. (My husband and I could barely move around our room once we brought in our four pieces of luggage!) We ended... More

The hotel is placed at the foot of Hollyrood Park, the University is nearby, same as Edinburgh Castle. If you plan to visit Edinburgh, this hotel is one of the best options: affordable, excellent breakfast, near to the main attractions and the University. View is spectacular; bus-station and a big swimming-pool nearby. Breakfast is great, you have something for everyone,... More
