Spent one night in room 205 of this Travelodge on Tuesday 23/04. The room was located on the second floor directly over a busy loading bay with lorries loading/unloading during the night together with bin collections my wife and I didn't get much sleep at all. We shall not be returning!!!!!

This travelodge hotel is amazingly central for everything - the station, the bus tours, shopping, the National Galleries and around the corner from the Café Royal. This was a leisure visit, and the weather and welcome could not have been better. A really great trip - and Travelodge provided really good value stay.

This is second time we have stayed at this particular Travelodge. As i previously mentioned, it doesnt have the best curb appeal, the entrance is on Meuse Lane surrounded by skips of rubbish. Once inside its a different story. Large airy room, clean with plenty of storage. Excellent location, 2 minutes walk to Princes Street, 5 minutes from Edinburgh Waverly... More

Despite the entrance door is located in a small lane with may big bins (a bit of dirty)....the price is really cheap in such convenient location. From our room at 5th floor can see a good view of city centre. No hairdryer in the room, you have to ask reception to get one.

The entrance of the hotel is not the best but was very clean area. The staff were all great and very helpful you could ask for anything. The room we had was great on the 6th floor next to the lift but never heard any noise once. Only bad thing was the cleaner didn't come to our room til 4.30pm

Clean basic room. Pleasant helpful staff. Did what it says on the tin. A really reasonably priced place to stay in the heart of Edinburgh. We will return to this hotel at some point in the future. Close to just about every attraction with good eateries and shopping very close by.

We stayed for two nights with our 2 kids & it's in a great location on Princess St & we had a room overlooking the main street with a great view of the old town & castle. We used a car park 5 mins walk away & the hotel was easy to find, just behind the main shops. Got a... More

First appearance of hotel was a bit off putting but once inside our opinion changed. Staff very welcoming. The room looked newly refurbished and was tastefully decorated. I would say excellent value for money as it was centrally located just off Princes Street.

Staying in Princes Street and Gardens

Neighborhood Profile
Princes Street and Gardens
Glaswegians tease Edinburghers that their High Street is only half one, since buildings only line one side. But what they don’t say is how extraordinary the views are from Princes Street as a result. From here you look onto expansive and decorative public gardens beneath the mighty basalt cliffs on which Edinburgh’s Castle stands proud above the rest of the dramatic old town skyline. Yet many of those on Princes Street look the other way, as they’re concerned with chain store shopping or catching the tram or a train at main train station Waverley. But it’s not all utility here; the Scottish National Gallery rewards purposeless wandering, and December’s huge winter market in the gardens begins a season of revelry which ends with Hogmanay, Britain’s largest New Year’s street party.
