Picked this Hotel purely for its central location as I was attending a wedding in another Hotel across the road. It is as you would expect in terms of the room itself, it was basic but recently refurbished. Spotlessly clean with modern furnishings and bathroom. comfortable and big bed. Staff excellent at check in and departure. Only gripe was the... More

unbeatable for location & price. Slightly dodgy entrance through Meuse Lane. The rooms are spread out over two halves of a building with only one point elevator & entrance/exit. Steps (5-6) in the corridor between room constitute a fire hazard. Room was adequate. Central Queens street Travelodge is far better except for this ones proximity to Waverly station.

Don't be put off by the access to this hotel which is down a dingy side street. Once inside it's lovely. The room was huge with a big bed and fluffy towels. It was very well soundproofed So there was no traffic noise and not much from inside except for next door entering and leaving their room. Only a couple... More

Great location and very comfortable stay. The rooms had everything you need. They were clean and tidy, we were able to check in early as the room was ready which was a bonus and we will definitely be going back again soon. Why spend more on a hotel than needed when you get everything you need right here for a... More

Stayrd 3 nights in s third floor room which was clean and and had all the basic necessities. The hotel was extremely well located in the centre of Edinburgh with all tourist sites, train and bus stations near by. Extremely good value for money in a city where it's quite hard to find cheap accommodation. Despite this I was extremely... More

Good value for money and very close to the Royal Mile, Scottish Parliament and Dynamic Earth. Bust stop just outside for easy journey to the new town No complaints for basic base for Edinburgh a city centre.

First time I looked this hotel not bonafit, location in clumpsy small road. But 1st point, location is excellent. Very near with main station Edinburgh. Near with shopping area, restaurant (McD and KFC available), supermarket (sainsbury's), also start point City Sightseeing. GREAT! 2nd, I got in 3rd floor, 318. Location exactly in view to main road but you need to... More

We stayed for 3 nights over the May long weekend. If you're looking for a tidy, centrally located hotel room, then this will be absolutely fine for you. Located 5 minutes walk away from Waverley train station (the main train station and the start of the 'Big Bus Tour'), all you have to do is walk across the bridge into... More

Staying in Princes Street and Gardens

Neighborhood Profile
Princes Street and Gardens
Glaswegians tease Edinburghers that their High Street is only half one, since buildings only line one side. But what they don’t say is how extraordinary the views are from Princes Street as a result. From here you look onto expansive and decorative public gardens beneath the mighty basalt cliffs on which Edinburgh’s Castle stands proud above the rest of the dramatic old town skyline. Yet many of those on Princes Street look the other way, as they’re concerned with chain store shopping or catching the tram or a train at main train station Waverley. But it’s not all utility here; the Scottish National Gallery rewards purposeless wandering, and December’s huge winter market in the gardens begins a season of revelry which ends with Hogmanay, Britain’s largest New Year’s street party.
