A basic hotel that was clean and spacious. The only negative point to the hotel is the location. It is not straight forward to find and you will have to go through a dirty side street to access the hotel. Checking in was straight forward. Nothing special about this hotel.

Access to this hotel is via Meuse lane which is a toilet - quite literally. Once you are in the hotel, it's your typical travelodge, brilliant value for money, decent sized room with clean shower room and decent sound proofing. No complaints.

My little family stayed here on Sunday night (24.05.2015). The familynincluded my husband, 2 small children and myself. We had a very large family room with a great view of Edinburgh Castle. Alan, a member of staff was very helpful before the stay with his advice about car parking and he gave us a courtesy phone call a few hours... More

What a great place to stay. The employees we encountered were amazingly helpful and friendly, and the room was immaculate and a comfortable size for our family. We'll definitely be staying here on our next visit to the city

Good location but bad entrance. Nice, modern, large and clean room. Friendly reception and good service mind. Need to request some room to enjoy the great view of Edinburgh. I got room no.607 which not bad but not great view. Not far from easy grasp-and-go foods such as Mc Donald's, KFC, Salisbury.

Stayed for a night at this place last month and it was a decent experience. Though was a little costly compared to other budget hotels but that's okay because of the location. Right beside the Princes Street.

I did a lot of research, so was expecting the entrance to this hotel to be in a dingy alley. It was that, but not as bad as some reviewers have indicated. Reception was friendly and quick. We were given a map and suggestions for dinner. Our triple room was a decent size and the bath was larger than many.... More

I stayed here for one night, you really couldn't find a better location as a base for getting around central Edinburgh and what a fantastic price, we paid aprox £70 for a family of 3 this included £10 for early check in. Great plus: lovely view of old town and big window, light airy room with lots of space, lovely... More

Stayed here over the May bank holiday weekend with my family.Great location. Booked a family room. Room was very clean and well kept. Staff very helpful. The room was quiet and we had no problems sleeping. The only downside to the room was that it was very hot and for safety reasons you are not able to open the windows.... More

Staying in Princes Street and Gardens

Neighborhood Profile
Princes Street and Gardens
Glaswegians tease Edinburghers that their High Street is only half one, since buildings only line one side. But what they don’t say is how extraordinary the views are from Princes Street as a result. From here you look onto expansive and decorative public gardens beneath the mighty basalt cliffs on which Edinburgh’s Castle stands proud above the rest of the dramatic old town skyline. Yet many of those on Princes Street look the other way, as they’re concerned with chain store shopping or catching the tram or a train at main train station Waverley. But it’s not all utility here; the Scottish National Gallery rewards purposeless wandering, and December’s huge winter market in the gardens begins a season of revelry which ends with Hogmanay, Britain’s largest New Year’s street party.
