My daughter recently had her Hen weekend in Edinburgh. We stayed at the Travelodge Edinburgh Central Princess Street. This hotel was situated in a perfect spot, just across from the station and a stones throw from the high street shops. I have been to Edinburgh many times and stayed at various hotels but I will definitely be staying here when... More

Visted Edinburgh for my hen weekend with 17 of us. When we arrived everything ran so smoothly getting us all into our rooms and the staff had gone out of their way to decorate my room ready for my arrival (organised with my bridesmaid) Allan on reception was so helpful with his recommendations for restaurants to visit and was very... I arrived for a day away with my girlfriend, check in is at 3 . Couldn't fault the staff friendly and seemed to care. Excellent training, a place they should be proud of, the location is a bit off putting but the staff made up for it.

Having bad experiences with Travelodge before I was very pleasantly surprised. The room, although a generic Travelodge room was immaculate. The bed was huge and extremely comfortable. We didn't have breakfast so I can't comment on that, but the staff were absolutely lovely, friendly and helpful. And for the price I paid well worth the money.

We stayed here on Monday evening. Friendly welcome on arrival. Rooms are nice and fresh. Spotlessly clean. Every member of staff we met was very friendly. We were going to see Marc Almond. The Gent on reception ordered a taxi and chatted away. He put on Tainted Love while we waited. What a great start to the evening. The lady... More

This is our 4th visit. Please don't be put off by the lane. Nothing to worry about, we left at 3.30 a.m. and did not see one person. The place is spotless as usual and a.ll staff very friendly. If you have not been before you will be surprised to see people checking in that you would imagine would go... More

Brilliant visit to Edinburgh. Hotel is in the perfect location and the staff could not have been more helpful. We were lucky and had a brilliant view out over Princes Street with the Castle in the background. Others in our party were not so lucky with there rooms but all were clean and comfortable.

Staying in Princes Street and Gardens

Neighborhood Profile
Princes Street and Gardens
Glaswegians tease Edinburghers that their High Street is only half one, since buildings only line one side. But what they don’t say is how extraordinary the views are from Princes Street as a result. From here you look onto expansive and decorative public gardens beneath the mighty basalt cliffs on which Edinburgh’s Castle stands proud above the rest of the dramatic old town skyline. Yet many of those on Princes Street look the other way, as they’re concerned with chain store shopping or catching the tram or a train at main train station Waverley. But it’s not all utility here; the Scottish National Gallery rewards purposeless wandering, and December’s huge winter market in the gardens begins a season of revelry which ends with Hogmanay, Britain’s largest New Year’s street party.
