This is a pretty basic hostel, but the cheapest in Edinburgh when I was there. Friendly staff. Very early breakfast by hostel standards, and no kitchen facilities so you pretty much have to eat out. Partly for that, the common area was dead when I was there (my dorm was full, so I don't think it was lack of guests).... More

I stayed here during a brief visit to Edinburgh this summer. We didn't have much time to find a place, and we didn't know much about St. Christopher's. My friend and I stayed in a 2 person private room, and we were pleasantly surprised by the amount of space and the amenities. Our room had it's own bathroom, and we... More

Great hostel. All the workers were the most friendly I have came across in all of UK they actually help you with questions! Especially a guy called Greg at the bar. Lovely human. All staff are great! The beds were also the most comfy I have came across on my travels. I stayed in 14 bed door and the whole... More

Location is excellent, right behind train station amd walking distance from coach station. Old town just behind and and new town right in front. Lots of walking tours around, attractions within walking distances, bus tours operate just down the road. Staff really nice and helpful. Stayed in the 14 beded dorm for 3days. Bed comfortable, linen clean. Only problem is... More

OK, so I didn't read the small print, it's my own fault. It's the only time ever that I've been asked for photo ID in the UK. I don't drive, and I don't have an in date passport. They wouldn't accept any bank or credit card, even though the Post Office do. Maybe the website sould have it in massive... More

The location is great, right next to the train station. The staff was very nice and helpful, but the room wasn't really confortable. I also hated the shower/bathroom scheme. The breakfast is good and, overall, I think the hostel is pretty good, considering it was the cheapest one available in Edinburgh.

Loved the staff Jess and tessa where amazing, this place is wonderful if you want to get great advice. Not the best hostel in town I'm sure but the people make the place and we had so much fun. And it is really central--!!!! :)

I stayed here early in May and then ended up coming back for a second time in June since i enjoyed it so much! The location is great and considering price the rooms were quite nice as well. But the staff was the main draw here, they were truly fantastic, and made the whole experience amazing! If I ever come... More

I stayed here because the previous hostel I booked at had overbooked me, so organised this one for me. It's by far not the best hostel I've stayed in, but I think Edinburgh just doesn't have particularly nice hostels... Expensive considering the actual hostel, but similar in price to other Edinburgh hostels. I was in a four bed dorm, which... More

Basically you get what you pay for. It is cheap and the place reflects that. Building and rooms a bit shabby but friendly staff very helpful. Quietish during the week but at weekends it's a party hostel. No self catering though a free breakfast and certain discounts on food and some drinks. Female only dorms if wanted. I met some... More
