My daughter booked a 3 day/night trip to Edinburgh for my birthday. The accommodation was very comfortable, warm & clean. The welcome was friendly & we were welcomed with a smile. The breakfasts were delightful & set you up for the day. There was plenty of choice & if it was a cooked choice then it was done from fresh... More

we stayed recently in room 6. It was a lovely stay but I just thought some things let it down and left us feeling disappointed initially. The room was unfortunately very stuffy for a double room and the bathroom is very small in this particular room and unfortunately on More than one occasion the lights went off in the bathroom... I was there at the JACOBEAN ROOM with my wife for 5 nights. Location is very good - it's off the city center but very accessible due to the great bus communication. It's on a small side street, which makes it quiet and peaceful. Rooms are being cleaned on a daily basis. You choose your own breakfast everyday and it's... More

The room was beautiful, with great bathroom and got good sleep on every night. The breakfast was good but regularly turned up different to what we ordered. The first morning we ordered black pudding, veggie sausages, poached egg, bacon, and mushrooms. What we got was just bacon and sausages. We also ordered porridge but did not get it. We never... I was given fantastic 'insider' tips on what to see and do around Edinburgh from the great local couple who manage the place. There is so much history in the city and the house is only a short walk away from the wonderful prestonfield are where you get a great view of Arthurs seat and can take some snaps of... More

Stayed 2 nights with my mother and 9 yo son in family room with en suite. Lovely clean, spacious room, comfy beds and everything you could need. Bathroom very modern and the shower was fab! Slightly out of town (I had an elderly person and child with me, would be perfectly walkable) but served excellently by public transport which is... More

Spent the weekend here for my birthday and it a very welcoming place. Cosy beds spacious room (family room) and gorgeous breakfast with a nice selection to choose from. Easy 30 min walk to the city centre straight to the Royal Mile with a nice pit stop pub en route. Definitely recommended.

I have stayed several times at this Edinburgh Guest House on the edge of Arthur's Seat near the Commonwealth Swimming Pool. I originally chose it due to its easy links to the motorway (you can completely miss going into the city centre to get there), once you do arrive there is plenty of free parking nearby so no expensive parking... Although a little distant from city centre. there are plenty of buses stopping at the end of the road. Host was very friendly and helpful. Room was a little bit small but perfectly adequate with en-suite. Breakfast, chosen the night before, was tasty and plenty of it (although no beans!). Very good price booked and would definitely consider a return... More

If you choose a place for the breakfast go there. We had a very bad experience with the room size. It was so small that we could fit a chair and had to leave bags in the car. The wi-fi did not work. Therefore, we asked if we could move out and the manager said that it was ok, but... More
