Wow, what can we say, great stay and very comfortable rooms, granted we paid a lot but it was NYE!! Great room, decent bed and a bottle of wine on our arrival! Breakfast covered all bases and offered porridge, pancakes as well as the traditional fried brekkie which was good quality and not greasy at all. The only downside was... More

Fantastic stay. Cal and Jen are great hosts both welcoming and very helpful. Just what I needed after a long travel. I Had a lovely room and a great night sleep in a comfy bed. Woke up to a brilliant tasty breakfast that set me up for the day ahead. Can't recommend highly enough and will definitely be back

Booked a double room on the top floor. The lady was very welcoming and gave me some useful information about the city when I arrived. The room was well-presented and had everything you'd need. Water pressure in the shower was excellent, felt like getting a massage every morning! The bed was really comfortable. Breakfast was also really good. Easily one... More

Lovely B&B. We had the Jacobian room which was a home from home . The huge shower doubled as a steam room and was a real treat. Like others said on here, owners happy to blend into the background which is great for me. They are very friendly and polite. The breakfast is amazing and plenty of it. The pancakes... More

Aonach Mor The hosts are really nice and gracious kept into the background unless needed which suited us fine. Rooms canny clean and everything works fine, the shower control was a little tricky (for us to work out) but again worked just fine after we were shown how. Not that I am bothered so I didn't ask them about this... More

Although hosts pleasant and breakfast OK, front door and staircase very shabby, whole place in need of painting. Our sink was not clean, bathroom doors dirty and thick dust on the wardrobes. Sombre paintings of old men on the walls. On a positive note, bed was clean and comfortable - as they should be. Over-rated and overpriced at £139 for... More

Friendly welcome on arrival, clean though small room; no chair, no mirror and nowhere to put things in the shower (but a good shower - no bath) Towels were not changed over a three night stay and bathroom not cleaned on day two either.Lovely comfortable bed though and sizeable, freshly cooked breakfast (served in a slightly cramped breakfast room). A... More

located off Dalkeith Road on a number of bus routes, this place suited us very well. We had a family room for 3 people and it was comfortable and roomy enough. The owners were welcoming and helpful. The morning breakfast was good although we opted to stay with the continental. This guest house is a 5 minute bus ride away... More

I originally found availability to stay at Aonach Mor on late rooms. The room advertised as available was a four poster bed room. Rather than book through an intermediary I then phoned the B&B direct, and was told that the room was not actually available but we would be given the family room instead (1 x King and 2 x... More

Nice warm friendly atmosphere, very, very clean and very well decorated. We stayed in the Jacobean Room with the four poster bed which was very comfortable and clean. The shower/sauna was immaculate with a shower to die for. The breakfast choice was very wide and covered everything you could wish for. We had haggis for the first time and loved... More
