Excellent staff and service. From the receptionists, porter and restaurant staff. They were all friendly, enthusiastic and helpful. It is difficult to stop outside the place, as it is a red line and a taxi rank but you are allowed 10 minutes to unload. We were still worried though. I was shown where things were in the room and how... more

Nice hotel with a good room, not sure it it felt like 5 star though. We were disappointed by the lack of facilities in the hotel. (no proper bar or swimming pool)There was an honesty bar, but the hotel lacked atmosphere with long corridors and very little going on (maybe as it was january we were the only people staying)??... more

Boutique hotel in a good location. The staff were very polite and helpful and seemed pleased to be working in a prestigious hotel. The hotel was fine for our purpose as it was really somewhere to sleep during a hectic stay for the Fringe. If you intend to stay in Edinburgh just to experience the facilities that the hotel has... more

I stayed at this hotel with my wife for a single night so that we could attend the military tattoo in 2009. This hotel impressed us before we even set food inside. As we approached the front door we were greeted by a friendly doorman who took our bags and escorted us to reception. That set the standard for service... more

My husband and I stayed here during the height of Festival season. It was about a mile away from The Royal Mile and after dealing with the crowds there, it was nice to have some peace and quiet. We were too busy sightseeing to make much use of the outdoor space but it was lovely to look at first thing... more

Booked this as a 3 night city break prior to going onto Tigh na Leigh in Alyth. We found the Glasshouse a great place to stay. A very modern boutique hotel and one of the best we have stayed in. The service provided by every member of staff is superb - from the enthusiastic welcome by William at the front... more

Awful. Not authentic. Gross. Highly recommend Hotel du Vin, in both Glasgow and Edinburgh, they were our Scottish savior. more

I have told Eton that I feel they need to be clearer (more honest, frankly) with their marketing of this hotel and about what it is and is not. It is, very pleasant and the staff are good. However, it is not an hotel in the conventional sense, having none of the usual facilities (restaurant, health, etc). I am astounded... more

We booked a room here to enjoy an evening to ourselves befor the festive merry go-round started. The hotel had an offer on at the time and we booked a junior suite for a very reasonable rate. Our room had view out over the city and the room itself was stunning. My partner has travelled on business for many years... more
