Stayed here for just one night in March for a business meeting. The dark and wet day was perfectly counterbalanced by the charm of the staff, hotel and room. Very comfortable room overlooking the roof terrace; perfect for restorative sleep. Fine breakfast in an open, airy eating room. Like others, I received a great rate by promotional booking in an... more

After reading some of the reviews on here I emailed the hotel direct explaining that we were in Edinburgh as my partner was running the Edinburgh Marathon at 9am on the Sunday morning, so I was worried we'd be put in a noisy room when neither of us would be out on the town and would need a relaxing pretty... more

The hotel itself is gorgeous--luxurious rooms (even the standard ones), excellent attentive service, great amenities. Its location is wonderful and you can easily walk to any attraction on the Royal Mile, Calton Park, shopping, etc. I can't say enough about how posh the place is! The only drawback is the street noise. The hotel is on a busy road and... more

- this is not a five star hotel - be prepared to wait for your room until 2 pm check in - the layout and design of the hotel is like a maze with long dark corridors - tiny lobby and no atmosphere - decor wa trying to be trendy but was almost tacky in places - carpets were very... more

My husband and I stayed in the Talisker Suite 4 years ago to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The room was delighfully spacious although it did have a not so delightful view over the busy roundabout to the front of the hotel. All in all our stay was great and had I wrote a review back then would probably have rated... more

We recently stayed here for a weekend away for two nights. Staff The staff are very friendly and welcoming, great at advising on the best places to see etc and booked a few tours for us. Rooms: Contempory style, rooms overlooking a courtyard, very well finished and exceptionally clean.Unfortunately, the hotel is located on or beside a huge cinema nightclub... more

The staff are courteous and the rooms well presented; average standard of cleanliness. It is a good location BUT, we booked a 'delux' room on the internet - it was small - they charge £15 a day for internet access and the room service quits by 10:30 at night. AND from 11 at night until 3AM we were left in... more

This was a birthday treat for me and the service was superb from the onset. When we arrived the staff announced that we had been awarded an upgrade and the room was exceptional. This hotel is ideal for both business and leisure travellers and is a real sanctuary in the heart of beautiful Edinburgh. more

Rooms 92 to 104 are directly above the Jongeluers night club, the bass and noise from below goes on until 2.30am. We booked via expedia and I would suggest that these rooms are usually booked through this or a similar source. This is not a 5* hotel from a facilities view point. The staff were excellent and very helpful, the... more

I booked this hotel as an amazing 5*, 3 night break to celebrate my husband's 30th birthday. I wanted a no expenses spared weekend and thought the Glasshouse looked perfect. Instead of coming away feeling pampered and treated I feel disappointed and I guess slightly cheated. I just wanted to put a review on here to let people know what... more
