Excellent boutique hotel, very centrally located. Very helpful staff, spotless rooms and public areas, lovely toiletries and undoubtedly the loveliest bed I have ever slept in! The champagne and strawberries warranted by a special occasion were much more than just that - two big glasses of strawberries and one of whipped cream, complete with chocolate curls and chocolate coated strawberries!... more

We arrived at the hotel at around 7 pm and were greeted by two very friendly receptionists. I was then shown to the room by the bellboy who was very friendly and offered to show me everything in the room. Our room overlooked the outside street and had a large ground to ceiling windows. The comfortable bed was separated from... more

The Glasshouse Hotel was fabulous. It is unique among hotels and centrally located in Edinburgh. The façade at the front of the hotel is what remains of a19th-century church, but this glass-clad boutique hotel is pure 21st century. My wife and I stayed at the Glasshouse for a week in May and June of 2009 in the Dalwinnie suite. All... more

My husband and I booked here as we were going to the Steely Dan gig in the Playhouse, and it was his birthday - WOW to both the concert and the hotel - I hope we go back to Edinburgh (staying in Glasgow we can't justify it all the time!) and stay here again. The staff are so friendly and... more

first impression of the glasshouse was the incredible heat in the reception area, it was hot outside and even more so inside. when we got to the room it was very small and over looked an office block! it was also above a busy bar! was one of the rooms 90+ which has been mentioned on tripadvisor before as not... more

We stayed at the Glasshouse for 3 days and had a wonderful time. The staff were great and would go out of their way to help. The rooms were lovely - clean. Couldn't fault a thing. Will definately recommend to friends. Many thanks more

We stayed 5 nights at the start of June. We were very pleasantly surprised at how spacious the suite was. We had a balcony which we enjoyed very much. The breakfast was wonderful and all of the staff was very friendly. We received lots of help with restaurant reservations. We will definitely stay here when we return to Edinburgh. more

This was our first stay in Edinburgh. We were only there for a single night so wanted a nice hotel. It was recommended to me and I read good reviews online. We got a taxi from the station to the hotel. It took around 5 minutes in lunchtime traffic. This was cheap and I recommend it so you can get... more

The Glasshouse is a real gem of a hotel. We had a suite with a terrace and made full use of it on a very sunny evening. I would definetly pay for a suite again - well worth the extra money. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and had everything you could need and would expect from a 5... more

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. The service was good, a little over the top even at times (staff standing up from behind their desk each time we left the hotel). Especially the Japanese lady who served us breakfast was very friendly, entertaining even. But be CAREFUL when you are from outside the UK and pay with creditcard.... more
