Went here for Sunday lunch on a groupon deal. Service pretty poor. Had to continually ask for drinks and the place didn't seem that busy. The language coming from the kitchen was appalling although the manager did ask them to tone it down and then came and apologised to us. The food was hot and tasty but not a lot... More

Beautiful and charming boutique hotel based just off Prince's street. Easy access to the popular shops and located near many restaurants. Clean rooms and nice bathrooms. Good value for money and great room service.

Have been going for a while, having the home made burgers. Thought I would take my mum and dad to let them try them. Unfortunately on this occasion they where not home made! We did eat them but I'm afraid would not go back unless they changed back to the burgers they advertise. I was very disappointed as I raved... More

Myself and my other half stayed here 28th Dec after my mum recommended it to us and unfrotunately were pretty disappointed. My mum and her other half also accompanied us and were quite shocked and the contrast in service between their visits here. We arrived early and the room wasnt ready so left our bags and opted to have a... More

Substandard cocktails dreadful attitude really disappointed this place has gone downhill, attitude of the pretentious bar staff really put us off, three days before Christmas and the bar was empty not a surprise the owners need to take control and get people that know what they're doing in running the bar

We were a group of 15 on our staff night out. Our table was booked for 8.00 pm and we were seated quickly but it took them till 9.00 pm to serve our starter. We had ordered and paid for wine for the table. We were given 7 out of the 9 ordered and we had to ask for the... More

We went to this hotel for its central location. The manager and staff are very friendly and attentive. An initial complaint was managed very well and overall our stay was a pleasant one. The haggis for breakfast is to die for and is highly recommended. The beds are large and comfortable. The bathroom was a little tired. It is great... More

Staying in New Town

Neighborhood Profile
New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighborhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.
