Premier Inn delivered what it promised. I had good nights' sleep every night. The room is clean & roomy. The couch is a delight. I would like to specially compliment & thank reception staff Angela who gave us directions twice. She was extremely helpful to show us walking & bus directions on the map. She also smiled & said hi... More

Great location overlooking the castle. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble especially Angela. Our room was bigger than expected, very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic with a great choice - spoilt for choice! I would definitely visit again and highly recommend.

Central location meant parking was a brisk 10 minutes walk away. Dragging your luggage. Positives included views of the Castle from the breakfast lounge. Breakfast itself (as long as you get there early) was good. Friendly and helpful staff, who were gracious, despite being clearly overworked. Bedrooms functional, BUT water pressure and plumbing issues need attention.

We stayed here for 1 night and it was clean and average price for Edinburgh. The location is excellent for Tourists. We had Dinner and Breakfast which both were very good. The room is smaller than some but for 1 night adequate. The only issue is the entrance is a bit hidden when you are walking trying to find the... More

Spent three nights here last week. We ordered the meal deal ( breakfast and 3 course evening meal ) for £ 45. The evening meal was nice and the breakfast also. The breakfast staff were rushed off their feet ( due to everyone going down for their breakfast at the same time ! ) Would stay here again :) P.S.... More

Stayed here for two nights with my daughter. Picked it because of location on Princess Street, you are able to walk everywhere, great for shops, restaurants, hopping on bus. It was my second stay in a premier inn, it does what it says on the tin, clean room, tea/coffee in room, hair drier, good power shower, quick check in, and... More

This is a very well situated Premier Inn and in most respects follows the national model of supplying exactly what you expect and doing so very well. However the food offering at breakfast is not up to their usual standard. Although there would seem be the possibility of creating a welcoming central buffet area they have seen fit to cram... More

Staying in Princes Street and Gardens

Neighborhood Profile
Princes Street and Gardens
Glaswegians tease Edinburghers that their High Street is only half one, since buildings only line one side. But what they don’t say is how extraordinary the views are from Princes Street as a result. From here you look onto expansive and decorative public gardens beneath the mighty basalt cliffs on which Edinburgh’s Castle stands proud above the rest of the dramatic old town skyline. Yet many of those on Princes Street look the other way, as they’re concerned with chain store shopping or catching the tram or a train at main train station Waverley. But it’s not all utility here; the Scottish National Gallery rewards purposeless wandering, and December’s huge winter market in the gardens begins a season of revelry which ends with Hogmanay, Britain’s largest New Year’s street party.
