On arrival we discovered that reception is 2 floors up, and a lift is available (this only goes to reception), no access to room floors from this lift which made it feel safe. As one member of the party is phobic about lifts there was a staircase to use. the room that had been allocated to us was on the... More

We arrived late at night to check in to our family room, the staff at reception were very friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious enough and had a fabulous view of Edinburgh Castle. The next morning we hit breakfast at 9.00am. Excellent choice of food and extremely friendly/helpful staff made for a great start to the day! One member... More

Clean, modern and comfortable no nonsense accommodation with friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is in a central location on the main shopping street in Edinburgh, however our room was very quiet. Plenty of bars and restaurants in the vicinity. Would consider again.

I stayed with two children in this city centre Premier Inn. The rooms were spotlessly clean and there was plenty of linen for all of us. The beds were amazingly comfortable and the staff had taken trouble with the children's beds. I was expecting it to be noisy, but surprisingly it wasn't and we all had a great nights sleep.... More

We booked a room three months in advance for three nights and got a small one with a slight corner "view." We were able to request and get a change, but not till the second day. The new room had a view of Edinburgh Castle through two narrow windows. The bed was very comfortable, but since the windows don't open,... More

We enjoyed 4 nights in The Premier Inn Princes Street Edinburgh. Our room was lovely clean as was the bathroom which was cleaned every day and clean towels if we required them, the view from our window of the castle was breath taking. Breakfast was good with the usual Premier eat as much as you like.

Staying in Princes Street and Gardens

Neighborhood Profile
Princes Street and Gardens
Glaswegians tease Edinburghers that their High Street is only half one, since buildings only line one side. But what they don’t say is how extraordinary the views are from Princes Street as a result. From here you look onto expansive and decorative public gardens beneath the mighty basalt cliffs on which Edinburgh’s Castle stands proud above the rest of the dramatic old town skyline. Yet many of those on Princes Street look the other way, as they’re concerned with chain store shopping or catching the tram or a train at main train station Waverley. But it’s not all utility here; the Scottish National Gallery rewards purposeless wandering, and December’s huge winter market in the gardens begins a season of revelry which ends with Hogmanay, Britain’s largest New Year’s street party.
