DO NOT BOOK HERE. After a long day of travel and arriving in Edinburgh in the night, I was looking forward to a bed to sleep in. My taxi driver took us to the address, and when we arrived, we had no idea what building it was. There are absolutely no signs designating this "lodge". The driver got out and... More

Stay far away !! My grandparents booked this hostel 3 weeks ago. When we got there there was no signage and we peeked in the door to find an empty old apartment building. We knocked on the next door neighbors and they said a man in the upper flat had been reported as a fraud already last summer and was... More

Staying at the palace copmfort lodge was truly a magnificent experience. The staff was friendly, helpful and not snooty at all. The guest house itself is in a great location, walking distance to many attractions. We enjoyed a wonderful view of the city and the surrounding area. The room was clean and comfortable. Our room was a good place to... More

I booked to stay in the Palace Comfort Lodge nine months in advance of my trip to stay during the fringe festival. Three days before I was due to arrive I received a phone call from the Palace Comfort Lodge to say that they had cancelled by booking as they had tried to take payment (which wasn’t due to arrival)... After booking for new year (Hogmanay) my booking was cancelled 2 days before due to a 'leak' having to find a hotel at such short notice proved very difficult and this hotel were not very apologetic. Then after 7 months (July) this hotel decides to take £120 out of my account! I think it's disgusting that after 7 months they... More

I absolutely agree with the previous review - the place is horrendous. I will start from teh fact that there is no welcome sign you would never guess it is a place to stay. There is no reception and the door was openedby a leepy guy. The corridors are smelly and we came almost in teh middle of teh refurbishing.... More

I recently made a trip to Edinburgh for a night. Due to the fact that the city marathon was on the day after my arrival and I booked late I had very limited accommodation options. I booked a room in The Palace Comfort Lodge at a cost of 180 pounds. It was not worth it. There was no reception. I... More
