We have stayed in similar apartments in Edinburgh for lower price and much better quality. The decor is a bit tired, the reception staff is very miserable and unhelpful (Virginia). The check in is from 3pm onwards. However we came to the hotel after a long journey at 3pm and our room was not even ready!! I recommend St Giles... More

This room had a fantastic view being on the garden side. Bedroom was big and had a very large kitchen half family room. Nice decor and pretty good bed. Getting the lights to work was a pain and seemed to cause a alarm to go off at 11 pm which scared us to death. We can laugh about that now... More

2 female friends and myself were having an overnight stay here, and from the moment we arrived in the morning, to request if we could leave our luggage until check-in time at 3 p.m., we were met with very friendly and helpful Reception staff. Our luggage was labelled and locked away in a cupboard, and we were free to enjoy... More

We had booked this short break in the penthouse apartment so that we could have a night of total relaxation, away from our hectic lifestyle. We had planned watching the festival fireworks and then chilling with a bottle of wine and watching some movies. I had paid for the movie channels and internet access. However, when I was trying to... More

We booked three nights here during the Fringe festival and Military Tattoo. The apartment was lovely and spacious with good kitchen and laundry facilities. It was close to the city and we were able to walk everywhere. Unfortunately the hot water was playing up and we were unable to get a hot shower. Despite the attempts of two receptionist staff... Lovely attic suite, nice and clean. Kitchen was well equipped and table set for us. Sittingroom spacious, had the basics without appearing cluttered, nice comfy seating. Bathroom clean, fresh, not great water pressure but we were on the 6th floor in an old building. Bedroom was great, lovely comfy bed and plenty of storage. During the festival this suite was... More

My partner and I stayed at the Blue Rainbow for 3 nights for the last weekend of the fringe festival. On arrival, we waited about 5 minutes for someone to arrive at the desk to check us in. We were then greeted by Stuart who explained the check in procedures and how things in the apartment worked. The apartment itself... More

The easiest way to review the establishment is to give a day-by-day report: Day 1 (check-in): The front desk was not staffed for about 15 minutes and when performing our check-in, we were unable to leave a security deposit due to their credit card machine being down. This was a quick clue to something not being being right. When trying... More

Booked the apartment to attend The Fringe. Great location close to tram (St Andrews Sq) from airport. Apartment was comfortable and included free WiFi but a number of issues to consider if you are going to book. We were in 206. Floor boards very squeaky, 2nd bedroom had no window and backed on to gym, very noisy if anybody using... More

Stayed in July 2014, on a two night corporate booking. Appartment was hot and noisy (no air con, faced main road). Needed a bit of cosmetic work but otherwise OK. Would score it a 3 based on that. But here's the thing - they insisted I leave my credit card details with them and upon checking my statement today I... More
