Past negative reviews must date to previous owner and/or refurbishment. We found it made an excellent and comfortable base - the staff were friendly and very helpful. The continental breakfast was good with plenty to choose from. Buses pass the door every few minutes for the city centre so, although there is a good sized car park, there was no... more

There is no hot water at night, met others staying there also have no hot water at night in their rooms. We asked the guy at the reception, he just said it is normal, you can have hot shower in morning. As a result, we did not have shower that night. Also, the curtain is almost transparent, you'll get sun... more

Place some kind ok, but if there´s some problems with your reservation or payment they don´t care so much. I haven´t seen that kind of ignorance about customer anywhere else. In my case, they charged double prize accidentally (I saw it when I got home). When I called there about the problem, they promised to call back, but I haven´t... more

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The hotel front door was locked up upon my arrival and had to knock to gain entry. The hotel provides no food and internet did not reach to my hotel room. room appeared suitable however not recommended for people who need peace and quiet as corridor very noisy when people come and... more

I only stayed 1 night as I was attending a function in the hotel. I was in a single room which was so small I had to climb over the bed to close the blinds as there was no room to go around it. The duty manager had stored his 2 holdalls in the room (maybe he had slept there... more

At the moment this hotel is under refurbishment so hopefully it will improve. The staff were very friendly and helpful so there can be no complaints there. The rooms were cleaned and fesh towels were given every day, so again no complaints on that side. However it is very dated and needs a serious makeover. Carpets in the room were... more

Hotel is a bit tatty, but the room was clean and comfortable. Liked: - coffee and kettle in the room - breakfast was good - easy bus links into town Disliked: - beware, the hotel has a function room! On one of the nights, the disco was blaring till 2am. Normally a bit of noise doesn't worry me, but the... more

A lovely little hotel, great location and excellent staff. The hotel is a little dated, however improvements are being made and things are definitely going in the right direction. We booked a family room which was basic, but very comfortable and scrupulously clean. The down duvets were a lovely surprise and just what we needed on a wet and windy... more

Stayed here for 1 night - that was enough! Shabby, shabby, shabby. Only hotel I have ever stayed in where the cold water came out of the tap hotter than the hot tap! Carpet filthy and full of stains. Washhand basin cracked and stained- 2 plastic cups at side of sink instead of glass tumblers. Liked the comical notice on... more
