I've stayed in Travelodge before and the problems are always the same. Cold unfriendly atmosphere at reception, and a general hostility to the guests. They have a policy of providing the minimum quantity of soap and toilet paper. You have to go to reception and ask for these basic room supplies. I can't fathom the logic behind this policy. Also... more

This hotel is absolutely fine for a budget traveller. Clean, functional, know what to expect. I only paid £29 for my room so didn't expect much but I had a lovely view of the river. No phone, no toileteries and no frills. My major gripe is that I couldn't open the window properly. more

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights from 5th to 8th November in room 428. First impressions from outside are that it is not a pleasent building to look at but the reception area on entering is bright and welcoming. We were checked in swiftly and allocated room 428. The room itself was adequete and met our needs... more

For our first stay we got a great clean room on the 4th floor, but on our return to Edinburgh we got room 227, which must be a converted room from an old hotel. Very shabby and seems to get all the kitchen fumes when you open the window. It takes about 25 mins to walk to Waverley Station, so... more

Went to hotel and requested a twin room, they gave us a double room (and this room was grubby). Went and asked for a twin room - the on they gave us was unmade (and grubby). The third room was a twin, no drawers for clothing (and very grubby). We paid 85 GBp per night (ok through an internet travel... more

Having stayed in a few Travelodges all over the country, I was very pleased with this one. The staff were very courteous, the room was exceptionally clean and came fully equipped with a flat screen TV. The hotel also had a bar/cafe which served good value meals and the drinks were average pub prices. Parking seemed to be ample; we... more

Average travelodge which is a converted hotel Modern rooms althought could do with being cleaned better as lots of crumbs found. The bathroom was very modern and clean Has outdoor parking as well as an underground carpark. There is also a restaurant and bar within the hotel, which although I did not use seemed popular. Within walking distance of Princes... more

This travelodge is "OK", clean enough and staff quite helpful and pleasant. The entrance to the hotel is a bit odd and rather dangerous in the dark, down a steep uneven hill, quite a climb back up! The location isnt ideal but a short walk (5-10mins) takes you to Haymarket, a taxi is required to go into the city centre.... more

We got a room with a view over the river, it was in a quiet part of Edinburgh with pleasant surroundings, parking was fine and free and we thought it was close to the centre to be honest it really didn't take us very long at all to walk to Princes St. We were very impressed overall mainly because the... more
