Clean room, not for wheel chairs, though ;-) The owner was very helpful in giving us recommendations as to where to go and what to see. We had a room with separate bathroom, which worked just fine. There was a sink in the room as well.

Stayed here over the weekend of 4th-7th December. Very comfortable hotel and the owner Peter is an excellent host. The freshly cooked breakfasts in the morning are lovely. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone great value for money.

Comfortable place in Mayfield a 10 minute bus ride from Waverley Bridge. Peter the host really friendly and welcoming. An email to me before arrival giving flexible check in times a nice touch. Would highly recommend

On Saturday the 29th of August I went to Edinburgh for two days for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, I arrived around lunch time and walked up to Dalkieth Road, the b&b where I was staying was located off this road on East Mayfield. After finding it, I was welcomed by Peter the owner who was very nice and friendly, he... More

Peter puts a smile on your face every morning without fail. An excellent cook, and so flexible he'll make your trip as good and easily executed as possible. Top place with easy access to the centre of town, I couldn't recommend it enough! The room is clean and tidy, the breakfast is top notch and all the staff always have... More

Welcomed by the hostess and treated to all her knowledge of Edinburgh. So friendly. Needed extra fan and had a special diet. All provided with a smile. Most important was that it was about half the price of hotels in Edinburgh which start at around £300 daily rate for three people from our research. Keep up the fantastic cooked to... More

We couldn't get a city centre hotel in the busiest week of the festival/fringe season then found Cherry Tree. Peter is a very charming host and was helpful in arranging our stay and sending detailed directions for our trip from the airport...he was even waiting outside for us when we arrived. But - and it's a big 'but'. There is... More

Nice rooms, showers were ok although the water temperature on the top floor was a bit iffy. Wifi was excellent and the breakfasts were good, msolid Scottish fare (eggs, porredge, cereals, juices etc.). The Host is a font of honest good humor and local knowledge and a great chap. We enjoyed our stay, but our only criticism is that parking is... More

Stayed at Cherry Tree overnight whist viewing flats to rent in Edinburgh. Parking behind the venue in large car park was a plus. Lovely welcome and basement room with separate living area and doors out to paved patio just right for our needs. Heaters in the 2 rooms were used and effective in the chilly evening and overnight. Comfy beds,lovely... More
