We had problems with our original booking in another property and ended up here as it was the only place in our budget during th Edinburgh Fringe Festival. I was worried as the reviews by previous guests were mixed. We stayed in room 4, a family room en-suite. My fears were completely unfounded. The room was large, full of light... More

We recently stayed at the Cruachan Guest House and found it to be quite disgusting ! It is old ...shabby and very neglected. In places it was dirty. The owner was friendly at breakfast time but after that you never see him. There is no effort made to welcome guests or make them feel comfortable. There is no attention to... More

This place is disgusting. The linens were dirty, the bed was terrible, and the whole interior needs to be redone. If you don't mind substandard accommodations this is the place for you. I had to buy my wife a blanket because she couldn't get under the covers.

I mostly always use this guest house every year and this year was no exception and I have not been let down yet, the single room I was in this time was alittle compact but comfortable. I could not get onto the Wi Fi, it did not work and needs sorting out but moans aside this is the only B&B... More

Stayed two nights. Graham, the owner, was lovely and very helpful. Would go out of his way to make you comfortable. The place is a little run down but it is clean and friendly. Cute little conservatory room for breakfast.

My girlfriend and I travelled up from London for the weekend. I booked the room the old fashioned way over the phone and was very happy with the result. I found the cruachan on a hotel website but called to make sure we could get a late check-in. Everything was last minute for us so I was very happy that... More

We are three ladies in our 50s. We stayed in at this guest house for three nights in November. How disappointed we were when we arrived. After eventually getting the owner to open the door and let us in,we were ushered into a room on the ground floor,it was dreadful. The room was dreary, drab and not very inviting. When Graham... we stayed for 3 nights this past week and found it very clean, restful and quiet . Also a great area to get buses to the city center. Would stay here again. If there was a. Negative, I would maybe suggest new mattresses for the beds, or get box springs for them.
