I stayed here one night whilst visiting friends in New Town and was pleasantly surprised with my basement room. It was much bigger than expected and comfortably furnished with modern touches ( headboard has coloured back light..bit funky LOL). Nice, good quality shower and bathroom fittings, good towel and room was very clean. The basement turned out to be a... More

We got a good deal for a one night stay, room only. The hotel was in a good location, in the heart of the city, with fantastic bars and restaurants. The hotel itself was a lovely old building, with modern décor inside. We did struggle to find the hotels car park, as it was in another location, however ring the... More

This is the last stop on the Tram when coming from the airport. You literally just have to walk across the street. The hotel rooms are nice but nothing special. Please be aware that the rooms require a walk about a windy staircase...not a bad little workout if you are on the top floor. The hotel offers a very nice... More

Positive - Clean , friendly staff, reasonable price Negative - 70 stairs to climb to our room!!!! no lift, not mentioned in booking. Had I known I would have asked for a lower floor. It was exhausting just getting to our room. Attic room cramped. Breakfast - we were forgotten about , then once I had told the waitress that... More

This place is an excuse for a 4 star hotel and those that are giving it good reviews are blinded by the pretty lobby - which yes, is gorgeous. But it's clear that these owners did ONLY the things that would help them be considered a 4 star hotel but cut every single thing they could that didn't count toward... More

We stayed here mid February for two nights in a twin room. The room was a really decent size and clean. It had a nice sized bathroom too, with a double shower. Breakfast was also very good. Really tasty and the wait staff were good at making sure supplies at the buffet were replenished. Pretty adequate place to stay in... More

Central location is attractive, building looks great from the outside (big old townhouse BUT Inside everything has been modernised on a budget - and it shows - industrial carpets, dull painted walls, cheap furniture (bed uncomfortable), LED lighting hanging off wall, dull lighbulbs - overall it felt like they had tried hard but the budget had not stretched far enough.... Another great trip for the ARRSSOL .Really nice hotel, friendly and efficient staff. Twin room with plenty of space. Looks as though they are investing more in the place so should be an even better place to stay in the future. Handy for trams busses and city centre. Did miss my bacon for breakfast but hey, live and let live.... More

Myself & my partner came here for our 8 year anniversary. We expected a beautiful classy hotel but the room was so small it barely had room for the two of us to move around. It had a sky line window in there causing the heavy rain to not us allow us to sleep, it was so bad we had... More

My girlfriend and I were visiting friends before Christmas and decided to stay at The Place. It is in an excellent location, near St Andrew's Square and Multrees Walk. The hotel staff were very helpful on arrival, letting us check in early and advising us on the area. The room was nice, although we were on the top floor and... More
