Ideal location with Playhouse opposite and Princes St a short walk. Lovely room and comfortable. Loads of space but we had fair bit of noise from traffic and revellers below - try a room at the back. Good food and excellent friendly helpful staff.

Spent a weekend in Edinburgh at the Holiday Inn Express opposite the Playhouse. On arrival on the Friday night we went out in search of a pub for a drink or few.
The first pub we came too was the Fiddlers Elbow and decided to give it a try.

Just back from an overnight in The Fiddlers Elbow courtesy of a Great Deals voucher. A pleasant change from chain hotels. All the staff were great and they are the reason I would give this hotel my recommendation. I would advise you confirm your booking before you leave. I liked the public bar which has a very lived-in feeling. Random...

In my other reviews I've used the term "Quirky"..... well The Elbow beats the lot. The Elbow will not be to everyones taste but we had a real fun time in this uniquely run lodgings.
The room (room 2) was warm quirky and with a comfortable and clean...

Got talking to Rory the Barman who showed us their rooms which were well kitted out and v.comfy also a lot cheaper than Jury's. Live music beer and great food brilliant...
