We recently spent 5 nights here while visiting the Military Tattoo and Fringe Festival. This B+B has a very central location, comfortable rooms and some charming public areas especially the lovely library on the first floor. The staff was friendly and helpful and we would like to recognize Gabor and Laura for all their help. We will definitely stay here... More

Chilled relaxed atmosphere , Staff helpful if needed , Room was clean and spacious with good view , Good cooked breakfast . 10 minute walk to the main part of Edinburgh and the sites . Only problem was the parking but look around there are cheaper parking options available . Enjoyed our stay

A very cosy hotel in one of the magnificent Georgian streets of Edinburgh's New Town. Full of historical charm and period details. The staff are excellent and the rooms are modern and clean. One minor point is that our room was a bit stuffy and damp smelling but we opened the window to air it and it was fine after... More

Nice place to stay. Amazing accommodations and facilities. Clean and comfortable room. Modern and comfortable, in spite of being a Georgian building. A lot of history there. Amazing staff, always glad to help. Have the most amazing Scottish breakfast. Go up to the first floor and have a tea on the library and enjoy the sights. Feels Like home.

Great and peaceful localization! Splendid building! Top Breakfast! Superb, exquisite, but yet friendly. Miss you, Gabor, Paul and all the girls. Love my temporary life there. It's a luxury, cleaning, quiet and green choice! Love the tea and buscuits at Library on first floor, watching the night coming through large Windows. All the best!

Arrived at hotel to discover no car parking. Booking.com said there was. Reception advised us to go to leave our luggage with him and drive to the Brittainia hotel, where for £7 we could have 24hrs parking. It was a 5 min walk away. Hotel very clean, comfy bed , clean bathroom with toiletries, hair dryer and TV. We went... More

We enjoyed our stay at the B+B Edinburgh. It's in a nice, quieter location of the busy city but it's close enough that everything is in close walking distance. Breakfast is wonderful and the duty managers are very helpful. Only bit of criticism is the price of the hotel for the service you get...housekeeping barely changed our linen even though... More

While possibly £125 a night is a bit expensive (would be interested to see what their rates are when the Tattoo and Fringe are not on!), this place was pretty great. Beautiful building, clean rooms, nice decor and a brilliant breakfast including cooked options. Quiet and in a great location - walking distance from tram.

Beautiful building in historic Edinburgh. We were able to easily walk to main areas of Edinburgh for tourist activities, linkage to train stations and restaurants. Edinburgh has done such a wonderful job of preserving and using it's older buildings, like this B+B. Check out the Library.

Beautiful building and accommodating staff. Room was a good size with a great view over Edinburgh. Close proximity to city centre and links to airport via train or bus. Personal touches made to room to cater for our wedding anniversary making it that extra special. Would visit again and recommend to everyone to try something different than the regular corporate... Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighborhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theaters and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
