Could not have asked for a better view of The Royal Mile. Fantastic and convenient central location. Little touches in the apartment made it special, such as irn bru, tea and coffee, plentiful maps and guides and tunnocks teacakes, as pointed out by the friendly check in staff! Loved staying here, would recommend to anyone else looking for a warm... More

Fantastic location on the Royal Mile, which is very convenient but the rooms facing the street can be slightly noisy. Spacious, clean, and well-equipped apartment. We booked a 2-bedroom but were given a 4-bedroom with 3 bathrooms! About 50 stairs to reach the apartment where we stayed, so might be a bit difficult for less able-bodied travellers (not sure if... My wife and I stayed here this weekend as we were visiting the city for a friends wedding. Firstly, big praise must go to the friendly welcome that we received from the reception staff. We were shown to our apartment (number 3) which was one bedroomed. It was very modern and smart with a brand new looking bathroom and kitchen... More

We looked for the address on our booking and were perplexed when we saw a souvenir shop instead but there was also apartments next door with a gate & a voice message box with buzzers but my nephews noticed it was the shops address we were looking for. We asked regarding booking and immediately we were greeted and had someone... More

The apartment I stayed in was about 200m from the castle just off high street. The view from the windows was magical and I was very close to all the action in the old part of Edinburgh. It was very neat and well appointed and the staff were very helpful. I totally recommend Stay Edinburgh.

Fantastic location in the old city, easy to reach other parts of the city, close to historic locations (castle, cathedrals) as well. Nice, tidy appartment. Very helpful stuff, no problems with prior payments, receiving invoice.

great location, easy to reach most important places. Very clean. The staff is kind and helpful. Maybe just one thing is unlucky that the wash-machine was out of order, but the staff promised to help us wash our stuff. I am very satisfied with their solution. Nice and happy trip in Edinburgh with a staying in Stay Edinburgh City Apartments... More

This place is located close to main attractions in Edinburgh. We had elderly family members so still had to rent a car, and were pleased that there is parking arrangements available. The apartments have everything available and were great for family stay :)

The four of us - two 'adults', two adult teens. I was there for work, the rest for play. The location is incredibly central for the Edinburgh Festival. The office staff were very friendly and helpful. The apartment was ready when we arrived at around 1.30pm. It was a bit tired in places, but clean and actually for apartments that... More

Staying in Old Town

Neighborhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavored souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
