My boyfriend and I have booked and payed in full online this hotel for a long weekend gateway. When we arrived at the hotel we faced the worst experience ever. We arrived a bit earlier than the check in time to leave somewhere our luggages and come back later for the check in. The manager/owner greet us in a very... More

I came here to have a drink after the 6th Feb 2015 for the Scotland England rugby match. Due to the ridiculous amount of people in the city for the rugby the bars/pubs do get full quite quickly. Myself and a few friends as a party of 6 came here after the rugby had finished. We are first timers to... More

Stayed here for a weekend in february 2016, when we arrived we got no informasion about the breakfast hours or the WiFi password. The room and the hotel itself is beatiful but some of the staff (the owner i think) was pretty rude. The chef and the cleaner did an absolute fantastic job. When i ordered the hotel i thought... Visited this hotel to soak up the atmosphere after the Scotland v England Rugby match - would NOT recommend - over-priced drinks, minimal choice, bar staff appeared inexperienced & person on door who was maybe the Manager (assumed but not sure) was very rude when politely asked about prices of drinks. Oh, & communal toilets - nice - not!!!! Very... More

Thank you LH-001975 for your review about the Bar at No.32 Hotel. We thank you to visit No.32 Hotel after the rugby match between Scotland and England. First of all we feel our prices are standard across the board in Edinburgh if not cheaper than most establishments in the area. We charged you £12 for 4 drinks which isn't particularly... More

This period property is located very close to Haymarket rail station making it perfect for those travelling on public transport. We were greeted by the very friendly if slightly "fawltyesque" host. Our room, as were the public areas, was extremely nicely decorated. Bed huge and comfy. Only complaints could be that the kettle didnt fit in the sink so had... More

I stayed in the hotel for 2 nights with my partner in December following a work conference in Edinburgh. The location wasn't bad, right near Haymarket station which is easy to get a tram into the city centre, and only about a 25 minute walk from the city centre (not ideal when we were there really as the weather was... Great building, good location, generously sized rooms. The owner Manish is great - helpful and genuinely welcoming. The other staff is lazy at best and creepy at worst. Do book - if you find a cheap room rate and don't care for "service" Don't book - if you mind being stared at, if you'd like a quick bowl of cereal... More

I felt really surprised by the good atmosphere of this guest house hotel! The room was really big, tidy, clean and the bed was massive and extremely comfortable! The staff were very friendly, easy going and helpful advising us about attractions and more. Very close to Princes Street in a very quiet location! Good breakfast too!

I don't normally leave hotel reviews ( my own laziness really) but me and my partner have just arrived home after a fantastic stay at Hotel No 32 - we both knew straight away that we had to leave a review about our experience. Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighborhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theaters and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
