The hotel is located in a nice area and quiet street; 15 mins walking to New and Old town and direct linked to airport in less than 20mins by Airlink bus. Stylish and warm furniture. Helpful staff. Good breakfast , nevertheless only with English and Scottish choices. Really bad wi-fi in our room on top floor, which is no big... More

i choose this hotel because the reviews were consistent, now cant understand how most customers had a reasonable experience and ours was so poor. The room that we booked was a deluxe double, on entering the room it didn't meet our expectations so checked on the internet. Clearly we were in a standard double. When we questioned this with reception his whole... More

This hotel was clean and well presented but what made it special was the staff. Lovely people and Alem served breakfast with such a friendly and pleasant manner each morning. Breakfast was yummy, the bacon mmmmm.

Made to feel very welcome in this fantastic converted Townhouse just 2 mins walk from Haymarket station. Staying for 2 nights with my wife, our room was still being prepared when we arrived but this was not a problem as we left our bags in the room while it was being finished and walked into town. Room 3 was clean... More

I stayed in this hotel while away with work - it's always a bit of a worry when traveling alone but I had nothing to worry about. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and I was made to feel very welcome. My room was huge - I was offered an upgrade before arrival - king size bed which was... More

Granted my partner and I made a mistake by booking the wrong weekend for a night away in Edinburgh-not sure how but we did! When we arrived we checked in to a room and it was a wee while later that the manager realised and came knocking on the door. He was very polite and we accepted the mistake. He... More

I was in Edinburgh for a day on work, and was put up at this hotel. I was accompanied by my husband. We had arrived from London at 11 am, well before the check in time of 2 pm, but since I had meetings starting noon, the owner (Ash) very kindly accommodated me and got us our room in advance.... Loved our 2 night stay here recently, Ash and his family and staff are lovely and could not have been more helpful and friendly so we would definitely stay there again. Good value prices too for Edinburgh and although parking is a little distance to walk its free so what's there to complain about!

Me and 2 friends came here as it is near Haymarket Station and we did not expect very much at all but were amazed when we arrived with the service we received. Memebers of staff were extremly helpful, friendly and polite and couldn't do enough to make sure we were comfortable. Our room was spacious, clean and well decorated and... More

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighborhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theaters and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
