Right from the offset they were warm and welcoming. Greeted us and offered assistance and with places to visit and hidden gems. Hotel was clean and tidy. Nice room for what we needed it for. Breakfast was great with super friendly and attentive staff. Keep it up :-)

I wouldn't even bother booking here! Due to unforseen circumstances we wanted to amend our booking to a different date as I knew it was non refundable. Tried contacting numerous times and was fobbed off by 'ADI' who works there but claims he cannot look at bookings yet he is working on reception. Told every time to call back and... More

Although at basement level, our twin room had a lovely window out into a tiered garden - very light and quiet. We had probably the best shower we'd had over our three week holiday in the UK and Ireland here too. Great location, we walked into town and to the castle from here, could walk with our luggage from Haymarket... More

I went here with my boyfriend for a one night getaway to Edinburgh and this gorgeous quant boutique hotel was perfect. It was just next to the Haymarket train station meaning we didn't have to worry about paying for transport or anything! It also was next to tram/bus stops so it only took a few minutes to get into town.... More

No complaints about the hotel. Excellent location, superb decor, immaculate and friendly staff. Modern interior and comfy bedding. Free to come and go as you please. Free street parking only 10mins walk, which was perfect. Would happily stay here again :)

The room was comfortable, clean and large, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. The location, just outside of downtown, was great for us - an easy walk to the major sites while staying in a more residential area. Also appreciated being on the airport side of town close to the tram line - it was... More

We had a lovely stay here for a birthday celebration. The breakfast was extremely yummy and worth the money. Staff were really kind and attentive. Comfiest bed in the world, only issue was a crack in the bathroom mirror. Would stay here again and recommend to couples who want to be in a quiet but accessible location to Edinburgh centre.

Booked online through Booking.com and found it very difficult to contact the hotel directly to confirm some additional details. That said, once we arrived at the hotel they had everything in place and we had a fantastic stay. I stayed with my parents whilst they were visiting the UK (where I now live). We booked a double room with a... More

The hotel is located in a nice area and quiet street; 15 mins walking to New and Old town and direct linked to airport in less than 20mins by Airlink bus. Stylish and warm furniture. Helpful staff. Good breakfast , nevertheless only with English and Scottish choices. Really bad wi-fi in our room on top floor, which is no big... More

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighborhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theaters and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
