Staff were friendly but room not ready on arrival at midday on Saturday. No toiletries in bathroom except hand-wash so 'Luxury Toiletries' was a misnomer. Room looked lovely at first sight but details were poor. Cracks in ceiling, mouldy shower, headboard loose and wobbly, 'king-size' bed was two singles pushed together so sheet didn't fit. 'Free parking' was on street... More

On first glance this place looks really lovely. On second glance you start to realise that there are a lot of issues with the place. It's a real shame as it has bags of potential and with a little more tic and attention to detail it could be really lovely. We stayed in room 7 right off reception - not... More

We booked here last minute ahead of our flight. I would definitely stay here again if I was trying to rein act a scene from Trainspotting. There was no one there when we arrived, initially so we waited for 30 mins to find someone to check in. Our room also had not been cleaned, the beds were made but unchanged,... More

Disappointing! We arrived to be greeted by a typed letter about being 'called away on urgent business' and our key left in the open hallway. After requesting a room on one of the upper floors we were given one in the basement. Our room was dirty, with cobwebs hanging off the ceiling, 3 items of furniture were broken (arm of... More

I read some of the reviews before traveling and did worry about what I would find. When I arrived there was an envelope with my keys and a letter explaining various details e.g. the toilet "for your exclusive use" is just down the corridor. I worried but needn't have done so. Yes the toilet was a few feet away, but... More

My plan was to treat my mum for a lovely weekend in Edinburgh for her 50th birthday. So I booked a night in the hotel. Stayed in room 5. Everything seemed okay to start with. But at 7.30pm we started hearing a dripping noise from the bathroom, it turned out to be the upstairs guests bath water dripping through one... More

First of all... I'm not one to write a negative review (I believe in positive or quiet) but this hotel needs to be taken down a peg because of the lies in advertising. The mobile website claimed "five star luxury" which was what enticed me, the reviews were good - 4 out of 5 on tripadvisor is usually ok. The... More

I must admit after reading the reviews on the Hotel we were a bit dubious about our reservation. However they could not be further from the truth. We have just returned from a three night stay. We arrived slightly earlier than we had said, 2pm. There was an envelope waiting in the beautiful vestibule with our name on. A nice... More

Having read reviews I was slightly concerned about what we would find. However myself and 3 friends stayed here on 18th October and we all agreed good value for money accommodation. We had family room. (Two adjoining numbers 7&8) lots of stairs up but didn't bother us. Rooms clean, beds comfortable. Tea/coffee available. One very small issue hot tap in... More

I booked my daughter and grandson into this hotel for a two night stay in Edinburgh. They thought it was absolutely wonderful and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Great value for money. Well situated for Princes Street and Ocean Terminal. Would definitely use this hotel again and recommend to others.
