One of the best things about this hostel is its central location. It is located near waverly train station and all the famous places to visit are very nearby. Secondly, the hostel has very very very friendly staff. All of them. I would definitely recommend this hostel

The staff is friendly and the location is wonderful. However the rooms are really small, you have to pay for everything. The duche does not have much water and there are a lot of noise. xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

The hostel was located is the best location possible, a three minutes walk from the train station and a five minute walk to the bus stop for the airport. The rooms and bathroom were kept very clean, the breakfast was good, and above all the staff was excellent. Each staff member was more than helpful and made me feel right... More

This was my first experience in a hostel and it was a great start. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. It's cozy space wise but provides a great environment to meet people. There is a common kitchen and breakfast provided in the morning which is good to hold you over while you start your day and another lovely opportunity... More

A really friendly and well equipped hostel in a great town centre location, the only downside was the access which is up a spiral staircase of 50+ steps which is not great when you have mobility problems.

small room and curtain didn´t work. noisy since rooms are located close to the kitchen and reception and hostel is small. needed to bay 2 pounds to have a locker they ask 10 pounds when giving you the key of the room that afterwards will be returned. well located hostel (city centre, Airlink bus, station, shopping centre) friendly and helpful... The staff at this hotel were certainly nice and helpful, but I found the space too be far too small for comfort such that I forfeited my second night's payment in favor of leaving early. Perhaps I've just been spoiled at other hostels, but I found two bunk beds crammed into a room the size of a medium size restroom... More

My 2nd Visit. Apart from some utter tool setting the fire alarm off with his one AM "Pasta fest" an utterly pleasant experience with great staff and nice surroundings. Will certainly come again when next up.

Haggis was a great place to stay in Edinburgh. Everything was clean, location was great, right on the North Bridge so it takes no time to go into the Old or New Town. Good little kitchen and breakfast and most anything you might need. Staff are friendly, lots of info in the hostel so you can check out what to... More

The Haggis Hostel is amazingly quiet and located a few minutes from the main attractions, there's a huge free breakfast every morning and all kitchen facilities are available to prepare your own lunch or dinner. Bathrooms and bedrooms are extremely clean and the showers are very comfortable. The staff is such helpful and friendly that you can easily feel at... More

Staying in Princes Street and Gardens

Neighborhood Profile
Princes Street and Gardens
Glaswegians tease Edinburghers that their High Street is only half one, since buildings only line one side. But what they don’t say is how extraordinary the views are from Princes Street as a result. From here you look onto expansive and decorative public gardens beneath the mighty basalt cliffs on which Edinburgh’s Castle stands proud above the rest of the dramatic old town skyline. Yet many of those on Princes Street look the other way, as they’re concerned with chain store shopping or catching the tram or a train at main train station Waverley. But it’s not all utility here; the Scottish National Gallery rewards purposeless wandering, and December’s huge winter market in the gardens begins a season of revelry which ends with Hogmanay, Britain’s largest New Year’s street party.
