The hostel is really nice and cosy, super clean, great staff! Having said that, I do have to mention the stairs! 2+ floors to climb with luggage....exhausting! It's a very quiet hostel (definitely NOT a party hostel), has no lounge to hang out and meet people, but if you're there for sightseeing, it's really good -the location is perfect! Close... More

It was most definitely an amazing budget accommodation in Edinburgh, as it was central near the princes street and all the main tourist attractuon. Rooms were very clean almost every time I entered the room, almost coz it was shared by 10 other people but that was the beauty of it, you get to meet lot of new folks also... More

Staff was knowledgable and helpful with all my questions. Hostel was affordable, clean, and well situated. Location was good for talking back and forth between the different sides of town. I would certainly stay there again!

The Haggis is in a great location in Edinburgh. Very close to all transportation as well as all the sites in town center. Two minute walk to the Princes St. Gardens. The stairway is very dirty, really disgusting, and I was scared the hostel would also be dirty but I was happily surprised by the cleanliness of the hostel itself.... More

Had a great time. Clean rooms, nice staff. Great bathroom facilities ! Couldn't wish for more in a hostel! Also some gay bars in the neighbourhood, what I was hoping for. A hostel one doesn't just go to to sleep - but a place where you actually feel well and taken care of!

I've stayed at Haggis Hostels (HH) several times in the past 6 months along with several other Edinburgh Hostels . It is clearly the best hostel out of the ones I have stayed in but it is also the most expensive. That said, it is often still affordable for short stays and also includes a good selection of breakfast foods... More

Only fault I could find is that the building is not very accessible (probably due to the age) - you need to climb 50 steps before arriving at the hostel. Apart from that, it is a great place: nice beds, showers, lockers... and there is free breakfast! The staff is also very helpful.

Lots of stairs to climb with luggage which led me to back pain. Very small bedroom for 4 people. There was not enough space for the luggage inside the room. The location is very good and the staff was very helpfull.

I stayed here for 2 night with a Stag crew, the best thing I can say about this is the location. Other than that I was disappointed overall with the value for money. Huge deposits wont suit everyone too. My bunkbed swayed. The door lock was faulty and wouldnt always lock. We were met by a timid employee. The showers... More

Really good hostel. Friendly and helpfull people, real Scottish hospitality! 24 hour service, always a nice welcome any time of day or night! Clean rooms, toilets and showers. Nice bedrooms and comfy beds. Simple but good breakfast! Good location too, almost in between Old and New Town. Right on the corner of Princess street. Close to the trainstation and busstops....
