This holiday inn is literally right next door to the zoo - they actually share the same car park but if you are staying at the hotel you don't get charged - even better! The staff at reception were very friendly and welcoming - although on the Sunday that we were there all the water was turned off as they... More

Arrived on Saturday for one overnight stay and was given a 'kingsize' room as requested. This consisted of two single beds fastened together with a lump right down the middle. The bed was extremely hard and the pillow had no support whatsoever - there wasn't much difference between the 'hard' and 'soft' options. The room was fairly comfortable - had... More

Nice clean hotel conveniently located on bus route to city centre. Staff pleasant and helpful. Car park a bit congested, may have to use zoo car park at £10, which is refunded by the hotel, but means queuing at peak times. Food is satisfactory but a bit pricey, with limited choice, and the drink is expensive. However, would use again... More

This hotel is situated right next door to the zoo (much to the fiance's delight lol) and about 10 mins from the city center. I have to say, it doesn't look too good from the outside but the interior is pretty good - the restaurant used for breakfast has a nice view out over the hills and everything was clean... More

Great location, next door to Edinburgh Zoo, (with FREE PARKING !) and convenient for Town centre, regular busses, take 20minutes, cost 1.30 e/w or 3.20 for day-pass. I would definitely stay here again. My first visit to Edinburgh, I found reception friendly, helpful, knowledgeable in planning how to use my time to see things over the weekend. I booked executive... More

The room we were given was extremely small. I doubt that the bed was even a standard double because it felt smaller than ours at home. The towels were really old and worn and I was surprised that we were not provided with conditioner, only shampoo. The swimming pool was very small so we didn't bother trying it. I am... More

My girlfriend and I took a 2 night trip to Edinburgh to see the Giant Pandas and this hotel offered the perfect location for us. It's less than a 50 meter walk to the front door of the zoo meaning we could beat the masses by booking a nice early slot to view the Pandas. Buses (£1.30) run every 10... More

We went to Edinburgh to see the Pandas and stayed here, we couldnt believe how close they were to the zoo, literally next door! We could just get up and walk right over. Unfortunately both Pandas were taken ill that weekend but it didnt put a dampner on it, we still loved the trip up to Edinburgh and the hotel... More

My husband and I have just reurned from a two night weekend break for my husband's forthcoming birthday at the Holiday Inn Edinburgh. At first we were a little concerned about being so far out of the city (approx 20 minutes by bus), but plumped for it anyway as we could get a good rate by booking in advance (£50... More

Great welcome, fantastic full choice breakfast buffet, nice spacious clean rooms and booked well in advance a great price too. We come back every year for a winter break and have never been disappointed. The zoo shares the same car park and is very popular. Parking is free in the hotel bit and some zoo visitors park in the hotel... More
