Stayed here prior to an early flight. Great value and modern, refurbished hotel. Rooms very good and good selection of outlets. Would go back no problem. When you're not willing to pay a fortune, but don't want to rough it in a budget hotel THIS is the place!

Located right in the zoo perfect for families taking children to the zoo. The rooms are quite dated, bathroom had really musty almost mouldy smell although the shower was great and very powerfull. this was not the best holiday inn i have stayed in. Rooms a bit dated,no fridge,iron or safe.No complimentary water or biscuits..(may seem petty but it all adds to the experience)that said I did get a good deal via superbreaks so cannot really complain.If you want the Zoo this Holiday inn is ideal..but also not too bad for the city..... We enjoyed the location of this hotel. It is right beside a wonderful zoo...complete with Pandas. The food was really good, our waitress was Karen and she was wonderful. This is not 4 star. Dodgy lifts, poor rooms with poor quality sheets, bathroom ok, poor service and unsavoury guests. On two of the three days there a staff member let himself in our room after one knock before 8am-9am?!?!?! I was coming out the shower and barely dressed which is completely unreasonable behaviour!!!!!!! DO NOT STAY HERE.
