Still known locally as the “Zoo Post House”, the Holiday Inn Edinburgh is located some 5Km from the Centre of Edinburgh on land that once formed part of the car park for Edinburgh Zoo. Originally built in the 1960’s as a Post House hotel (hence the local name), the hotel has subsequently been considerably extended. The hotel still shares part... more

I stayed at the Holiday Inn hotel in Edinburgh as part of a tour. The hotel is located right beside the zoo so it was very convenient when telling the taxicab driver which Holiday Inn we were at since it was near impossible to pronounce the street name of the hotel. The hotel lobby was very nice and the bar... more

I stayed here for one night and decided to eat in the restaurant...big mistake, overpriced and food came out very late overcooked and tasted very old. Another table behind us also complained about several of their meals. The manager told me that my tuna was cooked correctly, this was laughable. We were also put in a smoking room without our... more

We have stayed at this hotel on 3 occasions. It is a good location, right on a main road with plenty of buses to get into the city centre. Facilities are good and hotel is very clean. On one occasion our bed was VERY uncomfortable and we hardly slept. On complaining the hotel did not appear too concerned and did... more

I stayed at this hotel in February 2009. Although the hotel is not in central Edinburgh, it has quite a convienant link to both the city centre and the airport. The bus stop for the Airport bus is just across the street and the bus stop for the city centre is just outside the hotel. It takes only 10-15 minutes... more

Hotel was handy for Murrayfield but parking was limited and tight. Had to wait over 20 minutes for bar snacks and drinks even though the place was almost empty. The double room had a bed only accessible from one side which is grossly impractical, especially when the onset of mature years means that one is more likely to need the... more

I have stayed a the Holiday Inn many times in the last six months on business (my company gets a great rate). All I can say is that no way is this a four star hotel. The rooms are often dusty and not cleaned correctly. But it's the food that is the real issue. IT'S TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!! A pint of beer... more
