We went for this for a handy base just outside Edinburgh for a one night stay as it was right on the A1 and had parking available without the hassle of driving into the city. . Travelodge seem to be diverting their funds into expansion rather than spending on maintaining the existing estate: this one is in desperate need of... more

A good place to sleep at night. Is not the best travelogde what i stay, but is very good. A good bed, a good shower, and with a good price. I recomend to any one! more

Typical Travelodge - clean and value for money, but nothing to rave about. Happy to stay here again. more

i have stayed in numerous travelodges, mostly at glasgow airport,i find them usually clean, and well kept/decorated,this one was shockingly bad, general outlook before you check in was grubby and the place was dead,on checking in the room looked like something out the 70,s that had nver been done up,and the receptionist doubled up as room cleaner, would never come back to this one,although... more

The Travel Lodge does require a cosmetic facelift- rooms could benefit from modernising (especially the bathrooms) and the immediate surroundings outside could do with a tidy. For the price of the stay I could not fault the Travel Lodge- it is comfortable and affordable and a good primary base for Edinburgh and the surrounding towns. Musselburgh station is a 20... more

I regularly stay at Travelodges and have previously stayed in the Musselburgh Travelodge. Therefore, I know what to expect from the Travelodge experience and this suits me fine, provided the room is clean and I get a good night's sleep. Unfortunately, it was obvious that the room had not been cleaned properly - there were dirty rings left from glasses... more

A rather grim desolate motel. Seemed as though the whole place had seen better days including the surrounding environment (abandoned play area, piles of litter around the next door petrol station). Although the hotel is notionally non-smoking, both rooms we had (we changed from the first one) smelled badly of cigarettes. What the bathroom smelled of was harder to place... more

On-site parking is the only thing going for this place. The rooms are basic at best. Bathrooms were terrible - exhaust fan did not work, and the staff refused to look at it as "it is due to be replaced in a few weeks" - didn't help us, the room stank. The eating place (you can't really call it a... more

Very similar situation to the previous reviewer. We stayed here for two nights (July 14/15) to spend a day in Edinburgh. We chose this hotel due to its price, its closeness to Edinburgh and the fact that there was on-site parking (our research showed that many of the downtown hotels had you parking away from their hotels). Bed situation was... more

My family (two adults & two kids - 12 & 13) stayed at this Travelodge for three nights July 1-3, 2007. We were touring Great Britain via car and decided to use this location as our central hub for the Edinburgh area. We paid $330 total or about $110/night (55 GBP/night). The motel is what it is, a motel located... more
