I have read all the other reviews before staying at this hotel and I do see where they are coming from but ideally it is great value for money. 10mins from the city, there is a local shopping centre about a 5minute drive which has a tescos and if you don't like it theres a Asda superstore just before the... The Travelodge, Musselburgh is definitely not a sparkling edifice. It is cunningly disguised as a deserted building. But, having said that, we stayed there on Christmas Night, 2014 and were very comfortable. The staff had been in to switch on the heating (obviously not full Central Heating here, then?) and close the curtains. The Reception is less than charming and... More

I have stayed here before when visiting family and intend to stay again. Really impressed with the changes, there is also a great improvement in the grounds. Special thanks to the hard working staff. Pamela, Linda & Laura. See you all again next year.

Great quality clean room, no restaurant nearby unfortunately as it is quite out of the way, but is ideal if you don't like city driving. Fantastic staff especially Daniel. Musselburgh itself is a nice little town, buses run regularly and you can get the train in, taxis in and out of the city a bit expensive as so far out.... More

No signage and no lighting in car park. Noise inside and outside. Staff were not friendly and their service awful!! So terrible I refused to stay a second night and would not recommend. Actually when I told people where I had stayed they all said they had heard how bad it was!!!!!! AVOID!!!!!

I normally read reviews before booking anywhere but didn't on this occasion until about two hours before arriving!! We arrived in the dark, to a poorly lit, poorly signposted closed down (bar the garage) service area. I didn't even want to get our cases out of the car, but with some trepidation we did. Were relieved to see on entering... More

I do not expect Travelodge accommodation to impress as they consistently offer cheaper nights than the competition. However the closure of the Service Area (Garage is still open) has led to the Hotel being abandoned to its fate. The room was very basic and tired. There has been no exterior maintenance for some time as the windows and car park... More

The exterior looks so run down and shabby with buildings boarded up, I was in 2 minds whether just to carry on driving. Night staff were appalling - noisy and chatting all night. Day staff were brilliant.

Stayed here for one night as we were traveling from Edinburgh airport early the next morning. Though it's not exactly 5* it was clean and the bed was comfortable. The location was perfect for us, only around 30 mins to the airport. Parking was free and its only about a 5 minute drive to the high street. Would recommend this... More
