I was looking for a hotel with parking near hay market station that wasn't an extortionate price. The Edinburgh lodge was all that plus more. We had a large room on ground level which was great considering my husband had just run an ultra marathon from Glasgow, so no stairs for him! I was a bit worried about noise from... More

The hotel is walking distance from the city centre and a stones throw from murrayfield stadium. The building itself has lots of charming victorian character. The staff were really helpful and very accommodating. Our family room was very large and well equipped. The breakfast was generous with plenty of options. Overall a very good experience and great value for money.

The welcome at reception was warm and friendly. The room was spotless, warm and comfortable. The mint chocolate and fresh flowers were nice touches. The breakfast was more than adequate and the woman serving it was helpful and attentive. The hotel allowed me to leave my car in their car park which was a great help and I had no... More

I have traveled all over the world staying in smaller family run hotels, guest houses etc as opposed to chain hotels which I find to be lacking individuality. The Edinburgh Lodge located on Hampton Terrace in Haymarket is just a 5 minute walk from Haymarket train station and 3 or 4 buses to Princess street are literally outside the front... More

We spent 3 nights at the Edinburgh Lodge over Hogmanay and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel was of very good standard and the staff very friendly. The rooms were a good size although décor could do with a refresh. It was a bit of a hike into the centre of town (approx. 30 minutes walk to the castle) but... More

We spend a lot of time on weekend breaks all over the UK and have stayed in much more expensive boutique hotels which we prefer to large chain run accommodation. I booked an over night stay for my wife's birthday to see a show in town. From the moment we pulled into the hotel car park and entered the reception,... More

A small hotel located in the Haymarket area of Edinburgh. Nice and clean rooms, however quite difficult if you have mobility problems, lots of stairs. Steps up into the bathroom, no handrail. A nice breakfast let down with the quality of the sausages. Ideally situated for buses into the city centre. Good value for money.

Yes we did go to Scotland and in particular Edinburgh and thoroughly enjoyed staying in The Edinburgh Lodge. Although there were not to many Scottish people around the staff in there were fantastic. Coming from the other side of the world some pointed instructions were very useful, like speed traps, but it is not revenue raising???. Anyway Mr.Gonzales and the... More

I arrived on the City Bus direct from the airport and there is a bus stop right outside the hotel. (25 mins - Great value for £3.50) Nice friending welcome on arrival. Its a cute old building that has been well maintained. I was given room 1 by the front door and on entering I must say I impressed. The... More
