My partner and I attended the No.1 restaurant on 18/10/2014 and words cant describe our experience. The staff are very freindly and profesional. The hotel is beautiful and you feel very relaxed as soon as you walk in the door. The food was AMAZING. We have been to alot of nice restaurant but the No.1 restaurant has blown us away,... More

This charming old world hotel is exactly as one would expect - grand and gracious with excellent service. I had forgotten that I had stayed there before and was pleasantly surprised to be back. It did not disappoint. The location is also perfect. Some rooms seem to have a view of the old city and castle, which must be lovely.... More

Last night in pouring rain in Edinburgh 2 friends and I sheltered on the doorstep of the Balmoral Hotel, after a few minutes a young member of staff came out of the hotel and gave us an umbrella! This was wonderful, thoughtful and helped us no end. Thank you Balmoral Hotel, if your service to strangers is that good your... More

This hotel really makes me wonder how I could have given 5 stars ever before because nothing quite compares to how wonderful this was! I was here to celebrate my anniversary and celebrate we did. The service here was just seamless. From the small touches in the room to the friendly service at reception, we were looked after from start... More

Me and my husband stayed here for just one night as a wedding present and it was amazing. Since you walk in the lobby you get the feeling that you are in another world. The room was very nice, spacious and quite modern. King size bed was so comfy!! We chilled out in the spa area after an amazing treatment... More

Stayed for 5 nights and had wonderful service. Food fabulous. We felt thoroughly spoilt! Thank you. Spa was spotless and calm. Concierge so very helpful and friendly. Breakfast had loads of choice. Had dinner on one night and it was very tasty. Would recommend

The service was amazing at the balmoral the concierge Ryan helped us find non touristy bars to go to. The fitness room was nice, the massages we're week (guess we need deep tissue) the therapist we very sweet though. The hotel is an old building and the rooms could use a bit of updating. I wouldn't rate this hotel a... More

The hotel is clean and the staff helpful and friendly. The room was small, although there was a small seating area. We had high hopes for breakfast, but alas it was buffet style and I was forced on too many occasions to hang around waiting to catch someone to replenish juice, milk, fresh bread, bowls, sausages etc. The toast was... It's the only place we stay when in Edinburgh. The location on Princes Street walking distance to the Royal Mile and the Castle and access to all tour busses within minutes can't be beat. The old world charm takes you back to another time. The pool and exercise facilities are wonderful. High Tea at the Palm Court is excellent as... More

The Balmoral is everything a fine old Hotel ought to be, from the kilted doormen, to the rooms, to the services provided. We visited Edinburgh for three nights and we are very pleased that we chose The Balmoral. Breakfast and Wi-Fi were included in the rate and we made reservations for High Tea in the Palm Court. High Tea was... More
