This charming and quintessentially Scottish hotel is perfectly located in the center of Edinburgh, close to the train station and the Royal Mile. We stayed here twice on our trip to Scotland and both of our rooms had a wonderful view of the castle. Our second room was a generously sized suite with nice amenities. The hotel arranged car service... More

My wife an I spent a most enjoyable six nights at this hotel whilst in Scotland for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Not prepared to pay well over the odds for inferior hotels in Glasgow, we opted for a stay at the Balmoral for about half the price. Specially enjoyed the food in Hadrian's Brasserie and drinks in the Scotch... More

From the moment we parked outside to the moment our car was loaded with our luggage again, the service at the balmoral was outstanding. We had a great junior suite overlooking princes St, with it's beautiful monument and view of the castle which is worth the slight premium. It's an superb base to explore a great city and the Balmoral... More

We had an absolutely wonderful time at The Balmoral. This was the starting point of a Scotland tour and it was a perfect beginning to the adventure. The service is impeccable. The rooms are spacious and clean. This is one of the best, if not the best, hotel I have ever stayed at. It is central in location and I... More

Situated at the heart of Edingurgh, The Balmoral hotel is a great option for those that would like to opt for a high level option. The rooms are spacious and decent. The hotel is few minutes away from Edinburgh castle and shopping streets.

Stayed for four nights for our first visit here. Excellent location - it s right by the border of the old and new towns. Very warm reception. I have to mention they have a very efficient concierge service. We were met as we alighted from our train coach and escorted to the hotel. I would like to thank Steve of... More

We dipped into the Balmoral Brasserie after a rainy sightseeing day with our 5 year old son. The staff were fabulous and could not have been more attentive. Our son suffers from a nut allergy and not only did they bring a fabulous alternative for dessert, they felt bad he could not have his original choice and the chef prepared... More

We spent one night a week ago and two more just now and I was stunned at the service we received in a hotel of this type in the UK. NOTHING was too much for the staff. They remembered my name and, although there was a slight hiccup when I checked in, everything was undertaken by the staff with such... More

We spent one night in a Luxury King Suite, a gift from our son and daughter-in-law, and what a gift it was! Everything was truly superior, and if we could afford to spend a week here, we certainly would. The suite's furnishings were beautiful, the marble bathroom was exquisite, and the amenities were first-rate. The tray of chocolate covered strawberries... More
