A Haven is nice looking from the outside and our bedroom was a good size. The decor was a little worn and we had two singles made into a double rather than a double but the bed was comfortable and the curtains good so we slept well. The owner was friendly and the breakfast good (although no fruit other than... More

I tend not to read reviews.I make up my own mind after staying somewhere. This was, in my experience, a very friendly, accommodating and well run hotel. It is not a dynamic, go getting modern hotel with all mod cons but a friendly old fashioned place to put your head at night. David and Ian could not be more helpful... More

I have been visiting A-Haven for 7 years now and have been reluctant to share it on Trip Advisor, wondering if it would become too popular for me to book it when I visit Edinburgh. But I decided that this place is too wonderful not to spread the word about. It is run by a Scotsman who lives on the... More

Wonderful - turned up early, I know this can be a bug bear of small operations when check in time is clearly advertised and quite rightly so! Room was perfectly clean, bed, linens and towels all of a very good quality - far better then expecting... Great nights sleep! Breakfast plentiful and well made - but what puts this place... More

We stayed here on a friend's recommendation for 6 days .Great staff and owner who couldn't have been more helpful. Secure parking is a bonus. Breakfast is great and a good choice and freshly coked while you wait. Location is excellent with a 15 minute bus ride into Edinburgh .Couldn't complain about anything .We shall be back

Booked 3 nights, turned up very early (cheekily) to park the car in the hotels secure car-park. The car stayed there for the duration. I can in all honesty state that we have never, ever, anywhere, had such a warm and friendly welcome from the host and staff of a hotel. All were very well informed about their fair city,... More

A-Haven is our home away from home in Edinburgh. David and Ian are the perfect hosts with good humour and helpful touring advice, and the other staff members, Stephen and Jane are friendly and accommodating. The A-Haven highland breakfast is not to be missed, although all the breakfast options are well prepared and delicious. Getting into the city centre could... More

A-Haven Townhouse is a hidden jewel in Edinburgh`s crown. We have just returned from our 4th visit. The minute you walk through the door it feels like home because the welcome from David and Ian is so genuine and heart warming. The location is perfect, a pleasant walk to Leith, with the attractions of the Ocean Terminal, the Royal Yacht... More

A-Haven Townhouse Hotel was a wonderful welcome to Edinburgh for me and my two traveling companions. David and Ian were extremely kind and helpful and made us feel right at home. Breakfast was tasty, plentiful, and varied, our rooms were clean and cozy, and the free WiFi worked without a hitch. We also quite liked the location. The Leith district... More

We were up in Edinburgh for two nights' for a friend's birthday and the A-Haven couldn't have suited our needs better. The other reviews I've seen about the breakfasts were held up by my partner's eggs, bacon, haggis, black pudding, sausage, tomato and tattie one and by my veggie haggis, egg and tattie (I didn't want the tomato). I observed... More
