We booked three nights at A-Haven, in a twin room. The room was good, the bathroom was on the small side but it wasn't a deal breaker. The hotel is 7-8min bus ride into town, but the closest you can get is to George street, which is still a decent walk to most of the interesting places in Edinburgh. The... More

We stayed here for our 10th wedding anniversary. Very conveniently located for Edinburgh centre by bus every 10 minutes and for the wonderful Royal Yacht Britannia. David is the perfect host. Genuinely a 'people person' and very professional at managing a guest house. Nothing was too much trouble and the attention to detail was impressive. Very comfy bed and great... More

Charming little hotel located 25 minutes from down town by walk, or direct by bus N°11. The wifi was not working properly due to problems with BT, but the hotel staff fixed it changing i dont know how ... Bathroom was very small, and there is nothing to store our toiletries. The shower is small and we cant move that... More

The warm welcome we received upon our late arrival was just what we needed. We went to bed knowing what time breakfast would be served and slept soundly on the comfortable beds. The linens and towels were fresh and soft...toiletries were provided...bathroom was clean and spacious...bottled water, tea, coffee and biscuits in the room. Breakfasts were super....choice of full Scottish... More

My wife and I stayed at A-Haven Townhouse in Edinburgh for a long weekend in April 2012. Prior to our arrival we were in contact with David via email and he was very accommodating and welcoming. He gave advice on taking a cab from the station and greeted us with a big smile on our midnight arrival. The atmosphere of... More

On arriving late we were welcomed by David and team. They were all really helpful and knowledgeable. Lovely old house. Situated in Leith about 5 mins drive form city centre. Not quite walk-able but here are plenty of buses and David knows all the details. The room was well presented though a little tight in places due to the huge and... More

We stayed for 4 nights at the A-Haven Townhouse over the May Bank Holiday weekend. David and his staff were very welcoming and helpful in regards of planning our trips. He even got us discount tickets for the bus tours! The house itself is in a very easy reach to the town centre by local buses. We had a single... More

Arriving late, David was completely accomodating with secure parking still available. This was a weekend away for my husband's birthday and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay. The room was typical of a period building and spotlessly clean, hot shower and excellent sound proofing. Plenty of tea and coffee making facilities and all the other amenties you... More
