This is a great place to stay if you want a clean, comfortable room and a good breakfast without having to pay a huge amount. The room we stayed in wasn't large, but it had everything we needed and was surprisingly quiet despite the hotel being on a busy road. David, the owner, could not have been more helpful throughout... First review I have written of anywhere I've stayed, I felt utterly comepelled to after my experience of A Haven Townhouse. Arrived quite late on the Friday night as check in was open till 11pm which allowed us to arrive after work. Straightaway David was very friendly and helpful and not knowing the area very well felt immediately at ease.... More

Stayed here on Friday & Saturday while working nearby at LifesCycle. David, the owner, gave me a very warm welcome and explained how to get into the city by bus before I even asked. As soon as he knew I was there for work he asked what time I needed to leave in the morning and offered to give me... More

If you are looking for luxury, this is not your place. In saying that, you get a warm welcome, a Scottish breakfast, comfortable bed, and your bathroom with a bus stop that takes you directly to city centre or Princes Street across from the hotel. It was clean and lived up to all of the positive ratings given by other... More

It was a little difficult to review this hotel as I would recommend to stay here for a B&B in Edinburgh however I was a little disappointed by the size of my room. So part of me wants to score it high but part of me but because of the very small room I have to score it a little... More

A right little bargain!!! Brian was lovely and not only give us a lovely welcome but also looked after us during the stay, with fantastic knowledge of what to do and where to go and is genuinely interested in his guests stay. We are a young couple in are 30s and we felt so welcome. The atmosphere is friendly with... More

Very comfortable room, well equipped, clean and tidy. The hosts were friendly with a great sense of humour. The breakfast was also very good. An adequate selection and beautifully cooked and presented. Excellent value for money I would highly recommend A HAVEN townhouse to anybody. If we revisit Edinburgh we would definitely stay here again.

A welcoming little place. We were in the annexe which suited us fine as we could come and go as we wished. The room was filled mainly by the bed and other items of furniture but it was very clean. There were refreshments in the room which were replaced daily. The breakfasts were excellent and all cooked to order. It... More

This B & B is clean and comfortable in a home with lots of character. Host David and staff were extremely warm and helpful and the Scottish breakfast was quite good. The bus stop is just across the street with about a 20 min. ride into town, and about a 10 min. walk to the waterfront at Leith. I would... More

We stayed for 3 nights as part of our 5-week holiday in the UK. David and Ian were welcoming and helpful. The hotel has gated, secured car parking. The bus stops to and from Leith or city are just outside the hotel - very handy (£1.5 single or £3.5 all day). The hotel building is historic and great looking. However,... More

Ian A, Manager at A-Haven Townhouse Hotel, responded to this review

Very strange. I can't imagine why you might think the interior was a little tired. All the furnishings are new and in keeping with the Victorian theme. A-Haven is a Victorian Townhouse Hotel and is designed to keep this vision alive. Our breakfast is one of the best at any Hotel as all of our other guests have stated. Can't... More
