A-Haven Townhouse is a hidden jewel in Edinburgh`s crown. We have just returned from our 4th visit. The minute you walk through the door it feels like home because the welcome from David and Ian is so genuine and heart warming. The location is perfect, a pleasant walk to Leith, with the attractions of the Ocean Terminal, the Royal Yacht... More

A-Haven Townhouse Hotel was a wonderful welcome to Edinburgh for me and my two traveling companions. David and Ian were extremely kind and helpful and made us feel right at home. Breakfast was tasty, plentiful, and varied, our rooms were clean and cozy, and the free WiFi worked without a hitch. We also quite liked the location. The Leith district... More

We were up in Edinburgh for two nights' for a friend's birthday and the A-Haven couldn't have suited our needs better. The other reviews I've seen about the breakfasts were held up by my partner's eggs, bacon, haggis, black pudding, sausage, tomato and tattie one and by my veggie haggis, egg and tattie (I didn't want the tomato). I observed... More

Cosy, friendly establishment; I've stayed before and after a return stay will definitely be back. Nice contrast to soulless chain hotels - although if you prefer that sort of clinical environment then maybe A-Haven isn't for you- and this part of Edinburgh is perfectly safe to walk around (great chip shop nearby) !

I was undecided whether to grade this hotel as terrible or poor...I've opted for the less harsh option, perhaps I should have gone with my gut feeling. This hotel which looks lovely from the roadside within its large corner plot, exterior walls covered in foliage and overall attractive appearance has the potential to be an outstanding hotel but regrettably it... I'm afraid we must take objection to your comments regarding your stay here. Firstly, your comment about cereal dispensers which you claim are put out at night rather than the morning. Occasionally we will do this for guests leaving for a very early flight 4am, 5am etc. Other hotels would not do this for their guests BUT WE DO.. You... More

The staff is very friendly and the location is great. Try the full breakfast and don't skip the haggis, it was surprisingly good! David is great and will help you figure out what bus to take to get where you want to go. And taking the bus is the way to go. Our room was very clean, the bathroom was... More

The owner and the staff are great, kind and really helpful. The building looks a little bit tired, but the everything was tidy and extremly clean. Bed very confy. Car park at the back, easy to get to the center by bus. We just miss any alternative to the cooked breakfast (which was very tasty, but some pastries, cheese, ham,... More

I stayed here for 5 nights in June with my friend for a charity event. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast is amazing. David is very welcoming and has loads of info on the various sights to see. We enjoyed our stay so much we have already booked to go again next year
